Catundra's Questions

1 What culinary creation are you proudest of? My chicken and mango salad is probably the most original I came up with, but my pasta bake gets asked for the most. :-) I am also very proud of my butterscotch scrolls but I don't make them very often.

2 Why do you want to be a teacher? Honestly, it did not occur to me that there was any other job I could do. It was just ... expected.

3 What is your favourite place in the world?
Given how much time I spend here, it must be at my computer! I don't think I have a specific favourite place. I have lots of places I like to visit, but I always want to come home. I guess home or else my own bed!

4 Do you find much use for tarragon? No, I don't actually. I bought some to make bearnaise sauce with (I think it's bernaise, ) but it still sits around and doesn't do much. I don't do much french or italian cooking though. I kind of chuck some in if there's a need for green herby things.

5 What was your favourite childhood toy or passtime?
Making up stories for my brother. :-)

Have you tried substituting tarragon for mint in asian recipies?

None of my asian recipes have mint in them
But I could give it a go
:-)

Have you never tried to make Vietnamese Spring Rolls, in the clear rice paper wraps? That uses mint.
