Dalekboy's Questions
1. Name a book that you think everyone should try. Twilight. Because far too many people are whining, bitching, and being vitriolic and they haven't even read the text, and you know, it's not that antifeminist and nor is it that badly written. .
2. What is your favourite memory of you and John? We both got tears in our eyes during our wedding.
3. What were your thoughts after you got home from your first Swancon, where I gave you a special awardy-thing? I felt amazing. I felt powerful and strong and awesome and appreciated and just totally amazingly awesome. In a way, every con I go to I am trying to share that feeling with every one else too. I felt more like myself than I had ever felt. And I think that's why I push as hard as I do, work and play as hard as I do, to feel that feeling more often. Maybe who I am now is partially All Your Fault. :-) Did I ever thank you? If not, then thank you. I'm tearing up now too!
4. How do you feel now, about having been awarded the Mum-Fan? Responsible. Suddenly, I feel much more responsible! LOL! being awarded the Mumfan was a secret wish come true. Who doesn't secretly wish that every one loves you and cherishes you so much that you get a huge unexpected surprise? I honestly had NO CLUE that was coming, and when Ju started talking and I realised she was talking about me ... I always wanted to be unique and treasured, and that's how I felt. Oh, and afterwards, more responsible. :-) I care more about making Swancon and awards a success, and putting in more effort to help people feel welcome. And.... you made me cry again. :-) I think in a way, your prize and the Mumfan are very important to me in similar ways. Except the Danny Award was supporting me along the way whereas the Mumfan is more the cumulation of years.
I'm not sure I can explain this all properly. There's so much in this for me. I often feel that at conventions I can be who I want to be, I shine more brightly and can be more brightly, and I work to feel that way at home too. Your award taught me that my shining like that was awesome and to be rewarded, and the Mumfan the same again.
5. Is Ted Dansen? Like a Caramel.
