I just saw the footage on TV of the swimmer being attacked by her father. I hope he gets put away. People need to know that's NOT RIGHT.

I have a funeral on Friday.

I'm so not a ball of chirpiness today. All I want to do is cry and comfort eat, neither of which is good.

*sigh*

And I have to clean tears off my glasses again.

That footage is pretty disturbing. And the worst of it is he is her father - surely she will have to go home with him? And also - that this goes on all the time when noone hasa camera round to record it.

Ok, coherence has returned! I'm not 100% sure as to what my exact point was going to be, but apparently the police were there within an hour, the swimming organization was majorly pissed off they didn't get notified first, daddy got taken to a station for question, daughter got taken to a hotel for questioning, and the court case begins tomorrow with apparent sentencing by Sunday at the latest.

And yes, this happens around us all the time. At the dinner we did the other day for a women's refuge, the most interesting comment was made by the counsellor, who was saying that no one expects victims of terrorists to free themselves, and yet our society seems to think women should be able to. There's been a lot of discussion about that.

I have glasses, short brown hair, huge grin, big boobs, big everything, and will probably be mostly sitting in a corner chatting with people or in the bar. We're at the acacia.... um.... yeah.
