Lamb and Australia Day

Am I missing something? Why is every one talking about having lamb on Australia day like it means something? Why am I being advertised at, that I have to have lamb on Australia day? I don't think I have heard of this one before!

My plan was something with "ese," or "ish" on the end - Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Lebanese... I hadn't decided yet

What we need is to combine events. If Canadians can combine Robbie Burns Day (the 25th of Jan) with Chinese New Year (26th of January) and come up with Gung Haggis Fat Choy (http://www.gunghaggisfatchoy.com/) as celebrated by Toddish McWong, then we should be able to come up with something equally impressive.

Chinese New Year is dependant on the moon, I think.

What an interesting story!

Burns was set to emigrate to Jamaica at one stage, so there's also a jamaican feast of Jerk chicken, goat curry and reggae music, etc...
