Ever had the urge to post comments like:

"You're a bit of a whinger, aren't you dear?"

:->

Oh yes.. I have seen some posts and have wanted to say something such as that or even worse.

Ever had the urge to post comments like:

"You're a bit of a whinger, aren't you dear?"
Admit it! Admit it!!!
:O

Seriously tho, yeah. I have had that urge!

When I whine, go ahead and tell me off! :)

Yes. At least one specific incident lately where I was tempted to post something like that. Oh, wait, I did post it :-)

Actually my comment urges are usually triggered by (apparent) smugness combined (apparent) stupidity. I do my best to resist posting in such situations because the resulting responses have never been satisfactory.

I can't imagine there ever would be a satisfactory response to a comment like that. Most people would get all huffy about your comment rather than wonder why you would actually say such a thing, or wonder if there was validity in the comment being made.

Either that or they reply in such a way that it's obvious they have no understanding of why I might be annoyed. I try to accept that sometimes people will annoy me without there being anything I can do about it.

If you are indeed interested in cats, animals, and zoos you might like to drop on over to my journal sometime. Every now and then I write about animals and what it's like working with them.

How do you know these things interest me (which they do)? They are not listed on my LJ Profile....

I clicked on over to your BookCrossing page where you admitted everything. Have you read The Animal Attraction by Jonica Newby? Given your interests it should be of interest to you.

yeeeeeeeeesssss........

of course, when i was pregnant (a long time ago now) I had these urges to say these things in the middle of face-to-face conversations, and usually did.

*wince*

I do the walk away from the computer thing. And just substitute swearing loudly at the screen and various hand gestures to actually commenting.

Ah! Yes, I forgot about that!

No, I have not read that one. *adds to list*

Thanks. Am adding you to my Friends list. :)

There was a kit on a comedy show on TV once.

Patient to psychiatrist: (long monologue on parents not loving him, turning to drugs, wife leaving him etc)
Psychiatrist (looking thoughtful): Mmm. I hear what you're saying. And it sounds like - Waa waa waaa. Life's not fair. Mummy didn't hug me enough. Waa waa waa."

Couldn't stop laughing for days. Now if I start whinging, all you have to do is say "I hear what you're saying" and I'll shut right up!

It may even have been a skit.

One of my on-line lj pals has an inoperable frontal lobe tumour, and she just broke her knee cap too; and she keeps apologising for whinging about her life, so someone is trying their best to make up for all the snivellers and whiners out there.

I loved that skit. Which show was it from? If it was Big Train, good news! It's out on Region 4 DVD in March! Yaaay!

I know "The Sketch Show" did that skit.
