:-)

Been a very very active day today. I went shopping and bought meat. I made sure I spent at least $30 at coles so I could get the voucher for petrol. John came home for lunch, which was very nice. I made Thai Beef Salad, to use up the carrots and an onion and some of the chinese cabbage and the beans from the week before and it was damned good! He said he liked the idea of sweet potato in a white sauce type of thing with cheese for dinner, which amused me, but sounded like fun. I then went shopping TWICE at woolworths (TWO nore petrol vouchers! TWO!). So, already, compared to my normal scheme of things, I have been quite busy. Even making lunch could be considered quite busy. :-) And then I had a cup of tea and a timtam with my mum. A small extravagance because I knew I would need some down time and some chocolate before I started dinner. Had a good chat. Watched B and B with mum. Lost the remote control with the mute button. *sigh* :-) Then, got up for another hour and a half while I made my special meatloaf and then made white sauce for the sweet potato. Realised that it had been a long time since I made the meatloaf, and that even if I let us eat ONLY meatloaf for the next four meals, there would be left overs. So, I froze two smaller meatloaves and cooked up the half that was left. I make the best meatloaf in the entire universe. If you don't like strong flavours, don't come here!! I used a handful of the fresh chives plus a handful of the fresh coriander that we got in the co-op vegies this week, plus some garlic and dried herby things and an egg and stuff. (Secret ingredients. Actually, the secret ingredient is probably the sauce it gets cooked in.) We have a pet spider in the sink. So, my household has grown to three cats, two muscovies, and a spider in a sink. *giggle*

I grated my hand. It hurt the first time. The second time, I got bloody. And the part that is wounded is on my thumb right where I hit the space bar. I am just glad that my nails are now long enough that I don't *need* to touch the space bar, otherwise my LIFE WOULD BE OVER!!!! :-)

Anyway, feeling very accomplished right now. Have done somuch. Did 99% of my monthly shopping today (hence the voucher frenzy) and so now have 6 chicken breasts in the freezer, plus 4 steaks for our thai style stir fries ready to go. Plus we brought home some lemon grass which is also gleefully frozen. So, I should really pull it all out and inventory it properly. We have frozen single serves of char sui, chicken, steak, plus frozen kaffir limes, and lemon grass. It's all working to plan...It is now faster for us to whip up a red curry or a green curry or a jungle curry or a fried rice than it is for us to actually get take away. yay! Plus much more tasty and nutritious too.

Very very very happy with the co-op too. This week there were three bananas in our double share. Odd. :-) But coriander and garlic and chives, which is good cos we still have some basil, so it's FANTASTIC to have a selection of FRESH herbs in the fridge ready to go. Plus we got lots of sweet potatoes and leeks which will augment the potatoes and onions from last week too. I still have some tomatoes left from the week before, which we're using for basic salady goodness. More carrots! carrots are fantastic. Lots of stuff, and all good! Not much on the fruit front, we're not making our 2 a day people (giggle - I'm poking fun at you all here) but I think we're definately hitting our 5 a day for veg! Especially in this house! Small request for next week if any one remembers, is some fresh chilis. I need some fresh chilis. A range of fresh chilis would be good. *grin*

Ok, back to BUDGETS and NOT PORN again. :-)

I love reading the pregnancy forums and stuff. So much amusement to be had. Imagine, Chesh sitting at his pc, and me at mine, and occasionally he gets quotes like...

"Dear Cricket. Try setting fire to your husband. That should make him care."

"Hey, apparently Telstra and Energy Australia give discounts to single parents. Now that's useful to know."

"Am I Getting Fat? Yeah. *nods head* That's all it is."
