In New Zealand

Dear Friendslist,

The New Zealand airport is a curious mix of similar and different. I have taken photos of the chocolate kiwi biscuit, though I did not purchase one. We're a bit tired - it's 1:30 ish or something our time, so surprisingly enough no one is online.
:)

I took photos of the food on the airplane, which was good! The buns were hot and toasty, and the food lovely. Air New Zealand seems lovely to fly with! I did not read a thing, but watched stuff on the inflight entertainment, such as a couple of episodes of "Big Fat Gypsy Weddings" and some NZ cooking shows made by the chefs of Air New Zealand.

My ear is completely deaf on one side, so I have bought an expectorant to help get things under control, since the 12 hour nasal spray apparently wasn't enough this time. This makes me sad as it was perfect last time! However, I also bought some ear bud things that will hopefully help keep this under control.

Had a moment of surprise when I seemed to be unable to find my passport. Since I was already on the plane, I knew it had to be somewhere! Thankfully it was inside the iPad cover, which is why I didn't find it. I had to take it out of the pretty pretty cover, every time we have to flash someone it has to be out of any covers. This makes me a sad panda LOL 

So, I have 7 more minutes to warble on.

I spent some of yesterday in tears because this is all so big and scary and I just wish it was over and I was already at home snuggling with John talking about how awesome it was. I know that's not how self development and growth works, but hey, I'mn being honest. However I am very happy, and I am having a great time. I miss the kids something chronic, as you do, and miss John just as much, but this is good for all of us. We are all growing stronger just by having our adventures and remembering that life is to be lived, not endured. I am here to remind mysef of all the marvellous possibilities I have in the world, and it hurts because I know I had forgotten.

Thanks every one for your love and support in this, it's been awesome to see so many people happy to see the back of me! LOL I can't wait to actually touch down in FUCKING AMERICA! OMG I'm going to AMERICA! Hee! I already have a pic if a Burger King :)

Waiting for 6:20 so we can head out of Auckland Airport

I'm kinda tired. We managed a bit of sleep on the plane, and then we slept for a bit in a bubble, (pictures later) but still a bit tired. It's 4:02 pnm and we're waiting for 6:20.... slowly. Carol bought some wine in Perth once we were through customs, but unfortunately security took it away here, so it's in a bin somewhere. :( We had a lovely pizza together, with caramelised onion and roasted garlic on it, and it was lovely! Still managing my antibiotics OK, and I got my hearing back after a few hours. I have bought stuff to help with that for the next leg.

Not a lot to update here, so I will go and log into LJ for a bit and see what's happening there!

Also: when we arrived, this airport freaked me out. All the staff SMILED at me, and they seemed like nice, genuine smiles. Weird,...
