babalon_93 has started a bit of a challenge for us all to list 20 satisfying things we like to do when we're alone. I like the idea and want to see what I'm going to say!
1. Long bath with bath bombs, smelly soaps, candles, and a glass of cordial or wine.
2. Read something longer than a short story.
3. Play computer games (Kingdom of Loathing)
4. Not bother with any clothing unless I am cold, in which case a warm soft blankie
5. Make some magic
6. Cook something just for me
7. Type a few thousand words
8. Chat to my friends on ICQ, MSN, Aim, Yahoo, Gmail, KoLChat....
9. A nice glass of wine and some websurfing
10. Sleep/doze/zone/meditate
11. Meal plan and think about food and cooking (Involves reading webpages, researching recipes online, reading cookbooks.)
12. Budget and make spreadsheets and draw graphs
13. Wait for friends to come online to chat
14. Not listen for Vinnie
15. Not listen to John
16. Play music loudly, gently, or not at all
17. Clean my desk and reorganize it
18. Make christmas decorations (at the moment!)
19. Think about uploading pictures of Vinnie onto the internet
20. Lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling feeling relieved there is no one depending on me for anything at that instant.
:-)
Thinking about this, some of these items pop up when Vinnie is asleep. Which makes me happy and keeps me sane.
Life is good right now. I am exhausted and somewhat seedy, but the hang over seems to be only seediness, and not much else. After the mixing of drinks I did last night, I am particularly impressed by this. :-)
