I am seeing Valeskah tonight, so I told her I would bring a long her receipt for Swancon, as I still had the original. I knew exactly where it was - in an envelope marked "Valeskah, Punkrocker1991, LLBoy and LLGirl's Receipts" (Names have been changed to protect the not at all innocent.) However, as to the exact location of the envelope itself..... Ok, drawing a problem here.

It was in my organizer, however a few months ago my organizer took a nosedive while open, and a lot of the papers ended up strewn around the place around the corner under my desk. Ok, I'll start the search in the place where I shove documents and stuff that I need but not sure where to file.

Things I found the last time I did that: My success ring. (Actually, I have two, but this was my original one.) It's my huge purple one that I got from the Paddy's Markets in Sydney. Amethyst. :-)

Things I found this time: My mobile. I'm amused. It was even in the same shelf of the stationary holder as the ring had been last time! LOL! I had been meaning to email [livejournal.com profile] leachim for about three weeks now asking if it was OK to return the mobile to him after the birth - mostly I realised I wanted to have something so people could sms me unobtrusively while I was in hospital! :-) So, amused, I continue. I also re-found my certificate for Morningstar Industries. (My business name. *grin*)

Ok. No envelope with the required pork scratchings on the front. Dammit. So. Going down. The corner under my desk where the organiser fell and deposited Stuff(tm). It also has about 800 plus cotton balls on sticks (also known as cotton buds applicators by users of Johnson's... except these were a very cheap brand which bent when you look at them) lying in a pile on the floor since the container of them fell several months ago and I had been ignoring it. :-) So, cleaned that all up, found some hair lackeys, some display cups for crystals, floppy disks, spiders, catalogues, the usual piles of sh*t. No envelope, but damnit, I could even vacuum down there now. :-)

I have also managed to find receipts for 6 more visits to the chiro that chesh has made, which I have not yet claimed back from HBF. Life is funny. :-) Well, I find my life funny. I guess someone has to

So, I now have my keyboard covered with sh*t that now has a filing home and so can't be shoved back into corners but must eventually be filed. And other oddments (metal tins of envelopes, more envelopes, packaging from chai tea, other peoples' swancon reciepts, flyers from banks and credit unions, CDs, and coloured card) which I need to make decisions on. Now, I'd like to point out at this point that this is all from the left side of my desk. It's the side with the least junk on it. I look at the right side and sigh. This is also a cleaned version of my desk. I did a throw-out only a few months ago.

So. I look at the right side of my desk. And I thought to myself. "Why don't I check the place where I put ALL my envelopes of stuff usually?" I think you can all see where this is heading. And it's not a happy place. Yes. It was there. Yes, I am an idiot. Yes, my desk is still covered with sh*t while I blog this. Yes, I am laughing, screaming, crying and sobbing inside. Yes, I now have the reciepts for people to use for their tax returns.

*grin*

OH JESUS MAJOR FUCK I JUST LOOKED INSIDE THE ENVELOPE AND WENT THROUGH ALL THE RECIPES AND THEY'RE NOT IN THERE FUCK

Hang on. Ok. *relieved*
Yes they are, they just weren't in the big pile I took out of the envelope, but folded by themselves, hence they didn't come out when I grabbed all the rest. I think I have had enough excitement for the day!

I can empathise all too well .

My main annoyance for the last few months is not being able my one and only black bra that I bought from you , I turned the place inside out and upside down and I still can't find it *sigh*

I thought mobile phones were strictly not allowed to be turned on in hospitals?

I dunno. Haven't heard that one yet. I'm sure they will let me know. I'm not exactly a subtle person.

Hey

Did I just send you info about the WA Women's Fellowship?

Last email was at 2:57 apparently as far as that account goes.

I'm still writing up a skeleton framework for our idea. I'm up to 1,200 words. I don't know if we will ever get as far as applying, but you never know. Ideas keep us warm at night, after all.

If it was actually true, the whole medical system would fall apart. Not all of us use pagers : )

Mobiles are a problem: 1) if you're near cardiac monitors and defibrillators (not an issue in childbirth) or 2) if the busy ED doctor has come to see you and your phone rings and you answer it and have a long conversation with someone else, and waste my time. Guaranteed to cause me to wander off and go do something else.

Let me know if I sent it to the wrong address. I keep automatically hitting reply and sending the responses to the darn receptionist.

I replied back. I think. Yes, yes, I did. Important info like where I live was included.

Is that the right email?

Not a problem; whenever it's convenient for you is fine. :)

Man, if I'd realised how much trouble it was, I would have been even more enthusiastically thankful! :)

Was good to see you on Friday night - it seems like ages! (it -has- been ages!)
