callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (Purple Flower!)
I watched Ready Steady Cook and was most peeved to note it was a repeat. I'd be less peeved if I'd taped it and sat down to watch it, but ... well, you know. Anyway, trucking around the PC after I shut down the TV App, I went looking for something to watch. Maybe some more Good Eats. Or Perhaps there's some Jamie Oliver I haven't seen yet. Or even some DrWho could be a nice re-hash. And then, my eye caught... Pr0n. Pr0n?? Really? I opened the directory...

Flesh Gordon.

Flesh Gordon 2.

Tee hee hee. I am watching PR0N by myself and it's FLESH GORDON!!

Dear oh dear. *grin* I have some magazines and a pair of scissors. I'm hoping sprog will let me put him down so I can use them! And I have a new Notebook. I need to read October now!! :-) I like Notebook. I find it very calming.

Yesterday was a bad day. It was going well until about 5 pr 6pm when things started to go skewiff, and by 8:00 I was just sitting there holding vincent and crying. Poor john had to leave his meeting, come home and deal with me. The roast sucked. I ate all the lunch left overs. I was running out of made formula. I hadn't had dinner by the time John got home. Vincent didn't want to be put down for any length of time. I was trying to figure out how to use the expressing machine. I was trying to use the expressing machine. The gravy was salty. The roast was gristly. See? Bad day. :-(

But Vincent slept from 11 through until 6, when I woke him up. And we got out and saw Wendy, and her sprog. And it was good! Now, I'm watching pr0n, and hoping to chop up some magazines! Yay! Oh, and the house is a mess but I don't care. I have walking pathways. It's messy but not dirty. That's what I keep telling myself.

From memory Flesh Gordon 2 was REALLY REALLY bad.

I must point out, Fresh Gordon was REALLY, REALLY bad. I wandered off for a minute and came back to bad claymation with a talking monster.

*sigh*

I figure drunk before we start watching, and shots every time you see a penis shaped object, an orgy, or nipples.

messy but not dirty is good. yay for prioraties. Sprogs alway play up around 5pm when you are trying to organise dinner. Many mothers will sympathise. Try making stuff for dinner that you can do earlier in the day - potato salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, crock pot, casserole, pie, soup, stock pot. Have some instant stuff handy for when things just go pear shaped and shrug, at least there is a meal.

I like FLESH GORDON a lot, and consider it part of a trinity of sf parody, along with FLYING HIGH II and GALAXY QUEST. It was actually recommended to me by one of my more prudish high school teachers as one of the best satires she'd ever seen. Of course, it isn't for everyone, especially if you're not familiar with the original serials.

FLESH GORDON AND THE COSMIC CHEERLEADERS, OTOH, is not only one of the worst movies I've ever tried to watch, it must one of the ten worst sequels in film history, and I wished I'd listened to Robin when he told me not to bother watching it. It is not a film one should experience while sober. Or conscious. Or alive. It's that bad. IMHO, of course.

Have you seen Shock Treatment? Sequel to Rocky Horror?

I reckon Flesh reminded me of Rocky.

On that review alone i am temtped to punish my senses with the Cosmic Cheerleaders. HAving just recovered from watching " Stuff Stephanie in the incinerator" i feel nigh on invulnerable.

[livejournal.com profile] chaosmanor and I saw 'Shock Treatment' performed live at Worldcon last year. A troupe had done a wonderful midnight performance of 'Rocky Horror', and we were sitting in the front row, and some of the actors came up and talked to us and implored us to stay to see them do 'Shock Treatment'. It was 2 am and we should have gone to bed, but we said yes and stayed. Their enthusiasm couldn't quite disguise the badness of the movie, but I will say in defence of 'Shock Treatment' that it is a bad film with good songs, some good performances, and a few good lines.

'Flesh 2', by contrast, is so utterly devoid of redeeming features, without a single genuinely funny or erotic moment, that it should be more accurately titled 'Porn 9 from Outer Space'.
