I'm still alive! Just thought you should all know.
*grin*

Yesterday I made:

Boston Baked Beans. This involved a half a pound of bacon instead of salt pork, two pounds of navy beans (Dried. Imagine how much there is now.) Molasses, dark sugar, etc etc etc. They came out quite tasty, less in your face than commercial baked beans, which is nice. I find the commercial baked beans can sometimes be a bit too rich. Oo, it also involved one and a half hours of cooking ze beans, and then 5 and three quarter hours of cooking in ze crockpot.

Macaroni Cheese. I love my macaroni cheese. I don't know any one who makes it like I do. It's got 185g of cheese, and 185g of pasta, and about 125g of bacon. Solid, warming, great in winter. Or some place/time/space where you need a lot of calories per square inch of food.

Walnut chocolate fudge with caramel topping. It's a packet mix. I kind of enjoyed the raw mix. I am also enjoying the cooked mix, I think they both serve different needs in a woman's hormonal cycle though. I know a couple of ladies who will admit to makeing cakes just to eat the batter. *grin*

Punkin, bacon and cheesy thing with pork steaks with sweet and sour sauce. Probably the thing I am least impressed with, but Chesh liked the punkin thing enough to eat another serving. :-)

Today I posted to the wa-foodie list about Tom Yum. When my camera has batteries again, I will take pictures of the Secret Magic Ingredient and then post the post here, so you can all make magically wonderful tom yum soup. *grin*

We also managed to fit in about five or so episodes of Angel, of the last season which we had not seen yet.

spoilers, I guess )

Enough sobbing, wailing and angsting. :-) I am going to have a peice of fudge, some christmas tea (which is pretty awesome stuff. Thanks Lily, it's fantastic! I'm drinking it black with sugar. For those who are curious, it has fun things in it like cornflowers, citrus peel, and other stuff.)

Highlight of tonight for me was definately being applauded by Lee and Lyn.
:-)
It meant a lot to me.
:-)

It was good having movie night. It was rather nice being able to provide a mattress and rugs and sheets for children to sleep on. We've been through the box marked "baby clothes and stuff" which consisted of one size 1 singlet, and bedding and sheets for basinets and cots. Which is good. :-) I don't think there's any more boxes of stuff to check just yet, although john think there might be another box stashed somewhere. Plus there were hand pumps for expressing and sterilization kits, which is fantastic. :-)

And every one brought a lot of yummy food! Once again we all over catered. :-)
