Last night was shocking. As usual for the past few days, I lay in bed and did not sleep. But eventually I must have passed out! I woke up about an hour or so later, cold, stiff, frozen in the same position, and in pain because I needed to go to the loo. This involved shaking, crying, whimpering and quaking, a frightening response to the cold and sickness. Eventually I stopped shaking and after a few more hours of feeling warmer, I had a long, hot shower (about 4:30) in the morning and it seems to have broken the flu, but now I am in recovery mode. Which at least means I sleep occasionally, and I am not counting minutes until the next time I can have paracetamol. Of course, the worst thing is that asproclear would have put me to sleep easily, since it includes muscle relaxants. Paracetamol just dealt with the headache and the muscle aches, but I was still sick feeling and so could not relax. So far today, the tally is two glasses of oj/lemonade, a couple of peices of chocolate, and a little bit of chinesie food. No strepsils, no paracetamol, no lemon ginger honey drinks. I have a mild, constant, headache and my throat is all swollen but in a good, healing-now kind of way. I'm just not hungry. I wasn't even going to have lunch but Chesh had heated it up for me. If I'm still like this tomorrow, looks like I won't need to fake an excuse to get out of going to the birthday dinner that I was talking about last week.
Probably the trek to the toilet last night was the scariest thing that has happened during the pregnancy, which is why I wanted to blog it. My body has never responded to anything like this so out of my control before. I know I wasn't *actually* that cold, but the response to it was frightening. *shivers*
