e nomine,
E Nomine is an industrial band. They kind of mix God, German, choirs, and doof. My kind of music!
:-)
speculative fiction
Um, cos I like it? Er. I don't get to read so much any more, but I do like to read of other worlds and other societies and see authors play with strange ideas.
urban fantasy
I like stories between the cracks of what we see as the real world, and that's a rising genre now called urban fantasy.

http://userpic.livejournal.com/31656661/1802676That pic is from a series of questions you apparently get asked when you join the Scientologiest. You hold onto this device, and they ask you a series of questions, and your b ody's responses will give you an indication of what you need to be cleansed of. And the answer to "Have you come to Earth for Evil Purposes" is ... HELL FUCKING YES!
http://userpic.livejournal.com/43047126/1802676The Minifesto is awesome to me - it shows the fearful balance between the sanity of being human and the insanity of being female - women say they're PMSing and that can be translated to saying "I'm not in control of myself right now" and laying blame on hormones, and to a person who doesn't know what that's like it can be both terrifying and fascinating. I find menstruation fascinating, and think we don't tell our daughters (or perhaps know enough to help them handle it) enough about the experience of periods, as well as the mechanics. And our periods get put down and ignored and made fun of when I think they're a holy time when we should be more respectful of ourselves, and listen to our bodies. Unfortunately, that would get in the way of every day things like work.
and just out of curiosity wondering why this is your main icon
http://userpic.livejournal.com/43090913/1802676Because I'm a very hungry feminist! I feel like I'm consuming more and more and more feminist feeds, via feministing, ginmar, lauredhel, babalon_93, the gynaecon girls, the news, my LJs, and the books I read, and eventually I'm going to pupate and become something even more awesome!
