We're on an Adventure!

Wednesday:
Flight was good. Kids were excellent! They were in good moods for the entire flight. We bought them a little plane each, and when we get home we shall write the dates and locations on them, so there's always a memento and they can play with them. We taxied into babalon_93's house, and many hugs ensured. We left the kids amusing each other and went to check in, to discover our apartment is gorgeous. We have two bedrooms, two ensuites, a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, clothes washer, dryer, and two balconies. How awesome is this?? There's also a lovely pool and bbq area below. Just gorgeous. We return to Bablon's place for assorted children (preferably ours, but we were open to negotiation,) and then we came home and passed out. We've borrowed Babalon's car and satnav. We're very happy (but exhausted) bunnies indeed!
Thursday:
Today was prep day. Kids woke up at 6am local time, which is OK by us, because we all went to bed at roughly the right time last night. We needed to get some cake mixes to bake for the naming ceremony, and do other assorted stuff. Babalon's Mum has arrived for the Adventure. We went to Indooroopilly, and as per all things, the adventure took longer than we thought it would, involved splitting the party, and my discovery of a local source of Reese's White Chocolate Buttercups. It turns out Chesh does not like Reese's White Chocolate Buttercups, a factoid I shall attempt to forget so that in future when I buy him one I can look suitably chastened and sad as I gobble his. Dinner is in Babalon's treehouse, and includes bananas grown next door. Just gorgeous.
Friday:
Baking day! First, the fambly and I walked to Indooroopilly and bought milk and then walked back. Just a hill or two. Like all of Brisbane. Very hilly. Brisbane is lush and green, which kind of weirds me out that their water restrictions are much more tight than Perth's. I failed to help with any baking at all. What did I do again? I have no idea. Hung around Babalon's, spent some time at home, and had a lovely day.
Saturday:
We rock up at Bablon's to 'help out' LOL which we did, though not quite as much as I'd hoped. We eventually all trooped to Northey St farm, which is an *awesome* place. The ceremony was gorgeous and sweet, though and the celebrant had us all firmly in hand. After that we had afternoon tea, and then spent a few hours wandering around the tropical garden/vegie patch/jungle thing. We tried icecream bean, acerola, and wampi. Wampi were interestingly spicy and sweet, kind of peppery. Acerola were cherry like but had a more tart flavour, and the ice cream bean was interestingly pithy. We also had star fruit off the tree. Eventually we headed home and passed out.
Sunday:
We went to the Northey Street Farm to check out some of the raw food I have been reading about. It rained. :-) It was really lovely. I don't know if it's me or what, but people here just seem more willing to smile, and have a chat. Every vendor I smiled at smiled back, and some of them said hello. The fgeel of themarkets was just cruisy and relaxed. We had a coffee and raw peppermint slice and felafel. The felafel was nice enough, but very solid and i think I'd prefer mine cooked, and the slice was gooey but suitably chocolatey and coconuty. We got the last one! We found a second raw vendor, and they had little pots of dark chocolate cake, light chocolate cake, lime pie, apple pie, blueberry pie, carrot cake... I liked these much better! I bought the 2 chocolate pots, a lime pie and an apple pie for later. Yum! Then we went for yum cha at a resturaunt we wouldn't recommend to any one, and after a restful afternoon we hd a bbq and swim here.
Health notes:
I think I might be coming down with a cold. Not sure though, but definitely not 100% normal.
I am OMG so incredibly pleased Iost all that weight and have been taking glucosamine religiously. If Swancon was anything to go by, I would have made it through Wednesday and half of Thursday before my knees would have been swollen inside the joints again, and I would have had to only come down for the ceremony. I have been running up and down stairs six or so times a day, and my knees are not hurting at all. I did expect some pain, so this is just fantastic! I am struggling to keep close to my diet, but doing what I can anyway. I'm missing the wii yoga, but other than that, the stairs here and at Babalon's house are probably doing good things for various parts of me.
Monday:
Current Plan is Tropical Fruit World! Yay!
