I have two knife blocks to give away, they are pine and have five slots cut into them for knives. They have little rubber feet, and the wood has been polished.

Does any one want them?

Editted to add: Taken now, one to Purrdence, one to Chaosmanor

Hee heee! Maybe I should just get your over here and you can sit and tell me what you want of my junk!!

just one.

and while that would help your junk situation, it would do nothing for mine. Unless I turned up with a car full to swap...

I'll be there. What's NaNo (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) compared to a spa?

John and I are both going to do it this year. Or is that fail it this year?
:-)

There are no failures at NaNo, merely a heirarchy of procrastination and excuses. As someone who's gone over the line the two years I've tried it, I obviously need to make better excuses.

I've not even bothered with procrastination and excuses; I've just failed.
:-)

Have you thought of joining Freecycle?:-)

Been there, done that, bored of it. People always email and never turn up, or else just get rude because I gave things to someone else. Or else just never emailed me back.

It's weird how varying people's experiences are. I've done plenty of exchanging on Freecycle, as offerer and receiver, and not had an issue with no-shows or rudeness yet[1].

I never choose the first responder reflexively; I'll only choose someone who takes a moment to write something personalised and who shows a modicum of politeness and consideration in their writing. If I get an auto-responder-looking "I'll take it" it goes straight in the trash.

[1] Get the odd bit of rudeness aimed at my moderating, but that's par for the course, and easily dealt with.

I picked up some great stuff from freecycle, I always sent my full contact details including two phone numbers, my email address, and my husband's name in case he needed to contact the person if there were problems, plus I turned up on time or rang if I was going to be late, and if I was going to miss, then I made sure I made people know as soon as I had a clue that I might not make it (the latest was the night before.)

It just crapped me off that people thought they could just be rude to me and expect me to spend every saturday morning waiting for them to come out and yet not ring me even though I gave out *every* contact details I had under the sun, and then be rude to me later about it as well. Or else no one wanted my stuff. :-) Either way, I'm still on Freecycle, I just don't read it any more, and don't try and give stuff away that way. So far, my blog seems to be much better at it!

And fuck it pisses me off when people are rude to the moderator. It tells me they have problems within themselves and need to GROW UP. I don't think I could ever bother to be an email list mod, it just seems like fucking hard work with no return.

Sorry about the swearing, I am in a mega hell foul mood this morning.
