I want you all to tell me of one thing you are doing/have done/going to do today that is PURELY for yourself. Whether's it's spend 10 minutes reading your favourite book, a special chocolate bar, 5 minutes lying comfortably and day dreaming, what are you doing today that is CONSCIOUSLY and SPECIALLY just to bring pleasure and/or beauty into your life today?

I'll start: I am going to look at things for my Sungarden. I don't intend to buy, but look and daydream about things I can put into my Sungarden.

Well? Your turn next!

Today I don't think I have anything. Work all day, rush home, play rehearsal all night, sleep.

Sleep can be my thing.

Sleeps good. I like sleep.
:-)

Weirdly last night I got eight solid hours of sleep instead of my usual six, including a kickass dream involving flying (which always rocks), and yet this morning I've woken up exhausted and cranky.

Probably all that flying, I suppose.

Dehydration? Is it hot there?

Not last night. Got down to 13 degrees. Doona weather in January. Freaky!

Yum! now I want that too! :)

I think I am going to go to new edition books and spend ages just browsing :)

I'll possibly play Neverwinter Nights 2, or work ont he story for the RPG I'll be running.

Failing that, I could do myself a big favour and quit my damn job. Sadly that would be a little counter-productive as then I'd have even less money than I do now.

Eat a small violet crumble that's been sitting in the fridge for over a week. Yumm.....

And decided to install an expensive split-system air con in my office (just waiting on approval from the owner).

Interestingly your post has impeccable timing...

Today is 'Spoil Yourself' day for me... I have more than one...

I have a lot of "house stuff" and 'chores' to do today so I have at least 6 things I am doing as 'spacers' or to spoil myself:
1. Taking the time to write Journal entries about things I have been wanting to write about and some things I thought of last night.
2. Finalising the itinerary and budget for the 'Big Trip of 2007' to USA, Canada, UK and Scandinavia.
3. Pretty-ing up my Calendar and Dairy so I feel organised.
4. Passport Application (*Does the Dance of Going Overseas Joy*)
5. Email someone I have been wanting to email for ages
6. CV (I might only get started on this... but I should have updated it every year ... and in this precarious work situation and time I need to be ready for any eventuality... plus I like talking myself up!)

Gee, I haven't done anything for myself today, aside from the usual (like breathe, eat, etc.). You've inspired me to eat chocolate! Naked! No, just the chocolate will be fine.

I lit some incense, just for me. I had milky sweet chai for breakfast.

I spent from oh, 11:30 am till after 2pm writing a story.

And only stopped when my blood sugar fell to perilously low levels. It was addictive. It was fun. There was flow.

Any minute now my friend Alison is coming over to hang out. That will be nice, too, I haven't seen her since before I went to Perth.

Date: 2007-01-16 05:48 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] mortonhall.livejournal.com
just some trivia.. did you know that cinnamon (as found in chai) contributes to a lowering of the blood sugar levels?

Date: 2007-01-16 07:40 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] possbert.livejournal.com
Does that mean I can eat heaps of cinnamon buns? Can I, huh huh? Can I?

Date: 2007-01-16 12:36 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] mortonhall.livejournal.com
lol - only if it means I can eat lots of cinnamon donuts :P

I watched George Reeves as Superman, and downloaded Entropa to check out.

I went to see the Eyes, Lies and Illusions exhibition at ACMI - a whole display of old optical toys! From a personal point-of-view, one of the best things I've ever seen at ACMI

Had planned to see the Tezuka exhibition at NGV as well but I forgot that the NGV International is closed on Tuesdays so saw the Howard Arkley exhibition at the Ian Potter Centre instead.

Eyes, Lies and Illusions exhibition at ACMI

I went there last Friday. Some cool stuff there, including the Michael Jackson thing, and the Camera Obscura outside. Curious (yet unsurprising I guess) than many of the first examples of motion picture involved naked women... :P

Today I took photos of the comet. No naked chocolate though, unfortunately.

I play the Sims.

Oh this is so dangerous. World Of Warcraft - Burning Crusade came out today... I *could* treat myself and renew the addiction, but that would be really, really bad. Taking up a crack habit would be mild by comparison...

I shall have to think of something else. The chocolate naked thing sounded promising.

I am a WOW Widow... my hubby and his mates have taken tomorrow off work to play ALL day from 8:00 am with the new expansion.

Very very very sad... people are going to be cuing up at the shops where they ordered their expansion packs from VERY early tomorrow morning, or midnight if they live in the eastern states.

You are very very wise not to renew your addiction.

Fight the urges and cravings - do the chocolate, naked thing!!

I had a really yummy lunch. Deluxe Indo Mei instant noodles with mini dim sims in it.

I am going to play an evil flash game.

oh my, that is addictive!

I had a very tasty chicken and salad sandwich with Pat the director/SM and mates from work. There was GRADS business involved but I got to chat about theatre for about an hour and it was good!
