I fell over the other day. That was a bad day.
:-(
I tripped over V's little couch not one, not two, but three times. While holding a large, heavy, platter full of hot bacon and chicken bbq pizza. *WAIL!* But because it all happened in slow-mo, I managed to land on my fore arms and knees. I have a tiny little bruise to show for it! On one knee! But anyway, it was a bad fall, and left me very shaken up, put the fear of god into Ma and J, and left me crying on the floor for a bit. But anyway, Miss Kicky is still kicking like there's no tomorrow, so I guess she is fine!!
And we lost an entire HOT YUMMY BRILLIANT bacon, chicken and bbq pizza. *sigh*
I did some gardening yesterday. I enjoyed it! And the weeds were wussy and easy to pull! So I dumped them into my compost bin and then chucked some radish seeds into the freshly overturned soil. And will try and do some more tomorrow. I am planning a Diggers seed purchase in the next few days, so if you have something you want, now would be agood time to get member's prices! And I will only charge you a dollar of the postage costs! (It's $5).
I've been in a pretty foul mood lately, but that seems to be lifting. Some sleep now would be nice. The sun was lovely today and yesterday, and I have some photos from Fairbridge, and they seem to encapsulate the feelings I had down there - peace, contentment, and loving friends.
:-)
(Though no debauchery this year. There's always other years I am sure!!)
We went to Fe's christmas crafts day where I failed to craft anything at all. But did manage to eat some yummy food. :-) I had some good chats with people, ranted and vented a bit, people were amused and it was great to have some adult conversations with people. We need a little sign we can wave sometimes which says "Warning - Adult Themes Ahead".
I went to Ikea and bought V his birthday presents. I bought most for him, and one is for him but for me - a dragon toy organizer. He can growl at it and be cute. :-) His speaking is leaping and bounding, I am sometimes very surprised at the words he will tackle when he isn't thinking about things. I've decided we will probably not actually do anything for his birthday though. I was getting very stressy about the whole thing, and was planning more around who might be offended if not invited rather than a celebration for my little boy turning 2. Some stern words from friends (thanks for that!) and I feel much better for just stopping the stress cycle and deciding to do nothing for now. It's all OK, and it will all work out.
What else has been going on.... I made fudge. See? My life has been so exciting... :-) I have been concentrating very hard on living frugally and trying to budget and stick to the budget. But then we bought a car. :-) That kills any budget for the month, I think. So maybe next month we will be better with our budget! But I have been very good at sticking to our menu plans. I tend to rough plan the month, mostly so I have an idea of the meat in the freezer, and then re-plan the next fortnight, once a week. So there's a sheet of paper with this week and next week written out, and scribbles all over it as things get moved and re-arranged and deleted/destroyed/ignored and then I rewrite the sheet the week after, using the meals not already used up, and then adding in the next week. It's a great way to look after left over meals, stretch meals, defrost plans...
:-)
Anyway, blah blah blah, expect more from me in future.

Date: 2007-07-15 03:21 pm (UTC)From:Yay for fudge and sticking to budgets - I've been okay about sticking to mine all in all though I could do better if I put more heart into it.
If you need anything let me know - I should still be able to catch up with you this week, as no firm ideas about jobs yet. While I'm loving the break, having something new to focus on and money coming in would be good.
*so much love*
Also, your comment about loving friends - yes, yes, yes and YES.

Date: 2007-07-16 01:13 pm (UTC)From:I'd love some seeds. Only, too tired and overwhelmed with my to do list to think about it right now. But if they have silverbeet/swiss chard in the variety pack, I'd love some of those. If anything else occurs to me overnight, I'll send you an email...
