The short part of the ongoing saga is that I ordered a meat pack, and it arrived, but it wasn't the same meat as listed, and a good third of it had peanuts in it, which we're avoiding generally for Vinnie. The quality was fantastic, but it meant my monthly meal plan was completely stuffed. I wasn't sure that this was the way they run things or what, and was having a quiet month, and never found the phone number again, so didn't end up ringing to ask.
Then they rang me to ask what i thought, and I explained the problems I had. "Oh," they said, "We're very sorry about that! I'll send simon out with some freebies, to make up for it, and no, you were supposed to get the stuff actually listed, etc etc etc" and she was so lovely, I said "Ok, cool, I'll look forward to it cos the quality was excellent, and fair enough, i didn't ring and ask."
And he never showed.
And then today they rang again to see how I liked the freebies.
Oooooooo baby was that awkward.
"Hi, I thought I'd give you a call and see what you thought of the freebies"
"Er..... they never arrived."
"Oh."
"Um"
Then we both spent a lot of time apologizing to each other about it, since I felt really awkward having to explain that I hadn't seen them, and she felt really awkward that she had made promises that hadn't been kept... (and I know that feeling of having management pull the fucking rug out from under you, too many fucking years at iiNet to ever forget) and it turns out the guy who did my deliveries is the owner.
Boy, does she have an awkward conversation coming up as well.
:-/
Update on the boy - he slept through until 8:50, when I woke him up cos I was worried, and he has since kept down 240 mLs of watered down apple juice, some slices of toast, and a peice of fresh bread. And I have put him down for a rest, and he seems to have agreed that was a good idea!
He's still coughing, but he has been eukyrubbed, baby panadoled, singleted, t-shirted and jumpered and now blanketed too. If i told mother all that, she would freak that he would get too hot. Though I expect by now, he's ditched the blankies.
:-)
Ok, onwards to cleaning. And thinking about tonight. I don't want to think about tonight LOL
