callistra | General Update, probably the first in months and months

I have been sick. I think this covers 7 of the last 8 weeks. I hate it and I hate being sick.

- I went to the KSP writers group in a fit of energy, and re-found my love of writing. It was under the couch after all! Feeling good enough for a couple of drinks the night afterwards, and being kinda drunk, I randomly sent out copies of my books to people to elicit comments and to make me get off my arse and start the editing process on them. I am very pleased with the comments and feedback I have been getting.

- No, I have not finished my selkie porn. I should. But when I am able to concentrate for longer than five seconds at a time will be fine thanks. I have all the time in the world. (Um, not!)

- Chesh and I celebrated ten years of marriage, and Chesh, J, V and I dedicated ourselves to our family and our community and then had a big party. The three days before the wedding I was mostly well. It was a nice feeling.

- I had a bridezilla moment, but got to hang out with my favourite people for days on end while we cooked and cleaned and prepared and did stuff. The party was everything I h-oped it would be, and the food was awesome. I can, however, live quite happily without mini-quiches or caramelised onions until the next renewal. Well, maybe a couple of months.

- My boys looked beautiful in their little tuxedoes.

- I looked beautiful in my wedding dress, and Chesh looked awesome in his coachman's jacket. Chaosmanor did an awesome ceremony for us.

- Sick, sick, sick. Blah blah blah. Sick. My doctor thinks that this week is mostly just fatigue rather than actual illness. I'm trying to take it slowly, but I don't know how much slower I can take this without putting the kids in fulltime daycare and ordering in food for every meal. :-( But, since I am updating this LJ, I must be feeling better! Unfortunately, as the mists start to part, I am remembering things I have forgotten over the past lots of weeks. :-(

- Missing hanging out with my friends all the time and working on a huge project together. At the same time, glad I have no other big projects on right now other than getting myself, and my 2 children, to brisbane in an un-eventful manner. Oh gods, even that sounds like hard work.

- Femmeconne is running this year. :-)

- Percon is runnign next year

- Kiddiecon... is up in the air, unfortunately. But they, we're talking november next year, so who knows what will happen. It's definitely going to happen.

- We have an awful lot of alcohol left. And softdrink. And I have been ditching desserts left right and centre. That chocolate brownie of jess's was made of awesome. It had chunks of chocolate in it, plus walnuts, and a chocolate icing. OMG.

- Profiteroles!

- I wish I had more energy

- I am annoyed at myself for being so sick again. Didn't I do this last year? I am thinking of toning down the lingerie business. I enjoy it, but I love writing more, and I need to dedicate more energy and time to that. I also need to work on something which won't be so affected when I get so sick. I am itching to write more novels. I have about three or four in my head, waiting to go. And it looks like they will be put off indefinitely until I have finished more re-writes on the current ones. Man, this would be so much easier if there was only one of them!

- I read the Forest of Hands and Teeth. I wrote the review. I have failed in sending the review. I will get to that when I double check to make sure it's coherent. Some of my emails have been less than ...

- I have started reading short stories for LSS again. Yay ASIM, which I seem to enjoy continually, and blah ASIMOV's which seems to be OK but nothing exciting all the time. :-)

- Expect some photos. They will be coming! If you're not on FB that is. There's already some on FB.
