At Wastelands Convention, Swancon is proud to present a wine tasting in the bar on Saturday night!
When: Saturday the 9th of October (After we've all voted and Wastelands has finished!)
What: We will have samples of each of the wines we are selling for Fundraising. Wines will be obtained from Intimo on the Wednesday so they can be handed out after the Dinner with Sean Williams (the Wednesday after Wastelands, the 13th.)
Why: First taste is free, peoples! A lot of people who have purchased the Swancon clearskins have enjoyed them greatly, however they need to be tasted to be believed! It will be possible to order wines for up to two weeks after the Wastelands tasting.
Who: Swancon of course!
Where: At The Emerald Hotel (who have been absolutely fantastic)
CLASSIC WHITE
SELWYN WINES – MARGARET RIVER (owned by Evans & Tate)
Vibrant strong Verdelho influence with green pineapple and passionfruit with orange
zest and general citrus notes. The palate is ripe and round with a fresh acid finish.
It has notes of orange, peach and green apple flavours. This wine has been a favourite
now for the last 12 months.
New! CHARDONNAY (2002) great value!
MIRANDA WINES – SOUTH AUSTRALIA
A Chardonnay out of South Australia. This chardonnay displays a fruit driven style
with an intense cool climate fruit nose with peach and citrus orange characters
dominating. This gives the wine balance and a clean finish -terrific value for money
and very easy drinking.
New! CABERNET MERLOT(2003)
INTERNATIONAL CELLARS – SOUTH EAST AUSTRALIA
(Owned by Hardy wines)
Intense fruit aromas of plum, blackcurrant and brambleberry fruit are complemented
by a soft sweet vanillan oak background. The palate shows rich blackcurrant and plum
fruit with cinnamon and cigar box notes. The wine finishes softly with a good
persistence of flavour
SHIRAZ
SELWYN WINES – MARGARET RIVER (owned by Evans & Tate)
A good Shiraz out of the Barossa region of South Australia. This wine is medium
bodied with subtle yet defined fruit flavour. This combined with soft, smooth tannins
makes this a most enjoyable wine.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
MIRANDA WINES -RIVERINA REGION (Export quality)
A full bodied red wine with intense berry fruit and oaky aromas. The palate is
smooth and soft with an abundance of black cherry and spicy characters
complimented by soft tannins – this has been a very popular red with our customers
over the past 20 months.
SPARKLING WHITE
SELWYN WINES – MARGARET RIVER (owned by Evans & Tate)
This sparkling white wine is made from selected white wine grapes predominately
grown in South Australia’s Riverland.
It’s light, fruity flavour and ever-lasting effervescence makes it an ideal celebratory
drink or a great accompaniment to any aperitif. The wine’s tremendous value means
that it should be enjoyed on any occasion - no matter what the excuse.

Date: 2004-09-30 10:05 am (UTC)From:Any chance of having a peek at the chardonnay this weekend? I want to be a chardonnay socialist next Wednesday when I host the anti-Howard DVD night...
Also - Geraldton and lingerie will be huge. Might I suggest you and I drive up together, party with the nurses, much country hospitality and much filthy lucre. May need to do two parties, or one long one to allow people on shiftwork to attend.
($1200 at a body shop party with 8 attendees recently...)

I *will* deliver it to you between the wedding and the reception (I can't remember what time the reception is) tomorrow. I will bring your lingerie. *hugs* If not, then it will be after the reception.
