There's nothing wrong with nesting. But I have a sneaking suspicion that when mother comes over in an hour or so, she is going to want to clean up my nest! So do I put my foot down and say "No?" or just rebuild it after the christmas weekend??

Ok, so after my birthday we were all exhausted so we just flaked in front of the tv for a few days. And then we found the mattresses that we had lying around in cases people wanted to sleep on them, and they ended up between the couch and the 86cm TV set. And then there's the multitude of TV remote controls, all within hands reach. A few empty glasses. My box of would-be crochet attempts. The Gamecube controls. And then there's the result of my christmas shopping. For the past week when I come home, I have been walking in, dumping it on the floor, and going off for a nanna nap. Then later on, I'll wake up feeling horrible, stumble to the nest, and play Zelda until Chesh gets home. Then, there will be a quick round of show and tell as I wave each pressie at him and then put it down again. Hence there is a circle of space in which one sits, and then around the rim is a collection of oddities, presents, controllers, books, dishes, tissue boxes, and of course, phones.

I'm kind of happy with it. Mother however has been skirting around it very carefully and giving it baleful glances occasionally. I have to admit the funniest thing was the other day Mother emailed, then rang, (which I failed to answer) and then knocked on the door. She's sitting in front of me wearing clothes and looking neat and presentable going "I'm having motivational problems" and I'm still naked, wrapped in the nearest rug I could find when the door bell rang, my hair is a total mess, obviously un-brushed, the house is like a bomb hit it, and I'm still playing Zelda at 10:30 in the morning. She's having motivational problems??

Go on, let her clean everything. Then we can turn it into a reality tv show for 2005.

I did. I even helped. And so did Chesh. My house is unnaturally clean right now.
:-)

Don't suppose you fancy coming over to my place now?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Er, that's a "no".

Thanks for the offer! I hope, if I visit, you will clear a small space on the floor for me to sleep on?
:-)

Actually my place is remarkably tidy for a batchelor pad. It just doesn't have that unnatural level of clean you mentioned earlier. Would love to experience that before I die.

It's not worth the fun.
Thankfully, it was not so much dirty, as just messy. Things needed putting away and vacuuming, rather than incinerating and fumigating.

That birthday party of mine killed me. :-) I hope every one enjoyed it, it's the last one for a long long long time. Dinner parties with debauchery from now on.

I have worked out Santa is going to give me a peice of coal for not being nice all year. *grin* I guess most of the year doesn't count *evil, evil grin*

You realise that's bad for your immune system?
Challenge it at every given opportunity! Dirt is good for you.

Ah, such a pity. I wouldn't mind seeing you at work as I'm sure you're an impressive operator. Still, if the party took that much out of you better for you to not overdo it. You have underwear to sell after all.

As for Santa, well a piece of coal is alright if you really enjyed what you did to earn it.
