Thing to update about:

1) Dinner with Charles de Lint.

Charles and Mary Ann are lovely people, and handled the crowd with aplomb. Only one hiccup for the entire night worth mentioning: due to an impressive mixup, I booked the Zen, but told every one to go the Sado. John and I even visited the Sado. My only defence is old data on a webpage, and waitresses who I am sure are very cute, very japanese, and very bad at English. :-) But we managed to wrastle everyone to the right resturaunt at roughly the right time. This is not to say there weren't other problems, but seriously, after that issue, everything else was a breeze. I laugh! Ha ha! Carefree and coming down after a major stress. Ha ha! See? Carefree indeed. Thankfully, thre manager actually READ one of my faxes, which was thoughtfully titled "To: The Sado Island Resturaunt" in 24 point font. And possibly spelled resturaunt correctly. She is the one who rang at 6:40 to make sure a) we were coming and b) we were coming to the right resturaunt.

Thanks to the lovely Master Parker for being so wonderful and calmly doing what needed to be doing and keeping me informed as we worked through this, and for Ju for her help all night long too. :-)

The only thing that makes sense about the mixup is when Ruth was telling me that the Zen used to be a Sado Island Resturaunt, about five years ago. You would have thought that someone might have changed phone numbers during the change over. I did ring around a bit; I even spoke to a ladies college or something like that in Fremantle because I had heard the Chunagon still existed. Now that I think about it, the fact the same web page *had* the Chunagon on it should probably have made me sit up and notice....
:-)

2) Eyeballs! I have them!

Went and saw my lovely Dr Khoo yesterday, who proceeded to rabbit at me, and then ring an ophthamologist and make me an appointment for this morning. So, now I am blind on one side while the drops wear off which makes my pupil big so he could peer down it.

Basically, I have a little bit more information, but no change except for an appointment in two months. I have a small blister behind the retina which is caused by fluid not pumping correctly. It should go within 6 months. This is sometimes caused by pregnancy. And should go within six months, or else after the baby is born and my body rights itself. They offered a discount for upfront payment, but the discount was just under 5% and I thought stuff that for a joke, it's only 5% they can damn well wait until after con. :-)

3) Hens Night *moans*

I need to go shopping desperately. I can't really drive when I can't really focus with one eye. I need to get flyers to stuff into bags. I need to get food for tonight's cooking class. I neeed..... Chesh is running around doing 31 stuff, and I am tired (very, very, very, very, very tired.) And can't see. I'm pretty useless for the next hour or two while these drops wear off, so I'm thinking of trying general stuff which doesn't require me to look at things much. IE, laminating and possibly cookie making and perhaps some coffee grinding. I will be taking the coffee plunger to con, of course. :-)

I need to buy stuff for Lyn's Hen's Night to make sure it is the BEST HENS NIGHT EVAH! and get printing on stuff too. :-)
Ok, so this section was not so much a thing on the hen's night but just general stuff. Sorry. :-)

Ok, that's enough for now. I need to go and stare blankly at things for a bit. :-)
