so I always wondered - what happens when the Doctor reaches his last incarnation? Possibly be rewarded for some deed with a new complete set of incarnations? :P
I've always marvelled at people who ask that question as if the BBC is going to reach the end of actor #13 and simply say "Oh well, that's I suppose. Wish we'd thought of giving him 27 or 35 regenerations instead. Bugger!"
He'll get more lives. Somehow. It's science fiction! The Master was last seen on incarnation no. 15 anyway.
Ah crap, I really liked Eccleston as the new Doctor (even if he did walk like Kryten!)... ah well, at least we'll have one series with him, and hopefully he'll come back long enough to die and regenerate in the next one. ;)

I think they need to be sure the actor is absolutely willing to stick around for the three years minimum.
