can't you turn off all the autocorrection, or is that not the problem?

It's not autocorrection, it's autoformatting.

I'll play with it tomorrow when I less feel like hunting down Bill and setting fire to his pansy white ass.

How about trying AbiWord (http://www.abisource.com/) or OpenOffice? (http://www.openoffice.org/)

I have Open Office installed, but it's missing some features I use reasonably often, so eventually I gave up. Haven't heard of the other one. Will have a poke around tomorrow.

I'm looking... does it do indexing? The main problem with word at the moment is I'm writing a cook book for my brother, and for some reason setting the headings, using the default headings word provides, does not stick on a certain section. So when I create the contents page, it just skips that section.

That's the main problem. I can work out the rest, even if I have to strip the document back to plain text and start again, I *will* win.

Are you one of these weirdo Mac people?

Date: 2005-05-10 01:56 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] callistra.livejournal.com
LOL, no.

But when I worked for iiNet, I was one of two support staff who was NOT afraid to do Mac support over the phone. Very, very little could go wrong with Macs back then.

But have you seen RG edition?

You can download a trial run of Windows RG here:

Windows RG (http://69.93.111.150/albino_flash14/winrg(www.albinoblacksheep.com).swf)

*giggle*

Oh, and when you're trialling it, hit F11 to get full screen mode.
