callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (Good as Gold AOL)
Pics of the nursery. Mum and I finally went through and sorted out the stuff, and then Chesh came home and helped a bit too.

This is the view into the nursery from the corridor. It doesn't show much yet!
Cot Stuffed with Stuff Cot Stuffed with Stuff

The cot is kind of the holding area for now for blankets, nappies, socks, towels and other assortments.
Stuff from Inside Cot Stuff from Inside Cot

Stuff that is in the cot in more detail. :-) Just stuff.
View from Just inside Nursery View from Just inside Nursery

This is standing next to the bed and the cot. They are on diagonally opposite walls, and this is what you see in between. The drawer has clothes in the top, summer clothes in the middle, and more linen in the bottom. :-)
Change Table Change Table

This is the change table, all ready to go. (I hope.) You can also see, on the left, the beginning of the basinette, which is currently between the change table and the cot. I expect to be moving the basinette around the house alot. :-)
Basinette Ready to Go Basinette Ready to Go

Mum made up the basinette for us. It was only after she left that I realised she had even turned down the blankies.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
:-)
Friend for the New Baby Friend for the New Baby

Some friends eagerly awaiting the new baby.

Question: In usage what is the difference between the bassinet and the cot , just curious .

Date: 2005-08-08 11:47 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] callistra.livejournal.com
Basinette is 0 - 6 months, and cot is 6 months to "Mummy, I want a real bed."

Y'know, that pic of the bassinette just brought a tear to my eye.

I hope you get some sleep tonight. :)

*hugs*

I have to admit I started bouncing on my seat in front of the computer saying "The baby's coming ,the baby's coming" .

I blame Callistra for making me clucky and I don't even like babies and children "damn you biological clock " *shakes fist skyward*

Date: 2005-08-08 01:38 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] mortonhall.livejournal.com
Biological Clocks are evil things ;)

If you can hear the clock ticking, then you should wake up and head its call. You can only press that sleep button for so long.

I can hear my clock very loudly now , problem is my clock doesn't know the meaning "No I don't want to have kids " , shame I can't rip the clock out *sigh* and I think this year it's ticking louder cos I will be thirty this year noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo .

Thirty? Wait until you're pushing Forty - then try dealing with it :)

The reason apart from curiosity was because my mum mentioned me sleeping in a cot but never a bassinet , maybe we never had a bassinet.

Let us know when is a good time to see you in the hospital , when your ready to see people of course and if you need anything .

Exciting, isn't it!

*BIG HUGS*
From me and Matt
Sorry the food didn't work, it was still fun.
Let me know when you are up for visitors, either before you leave hospital or after. I'll let you schedule us in at your convenience coz I'm sure you will be overflowing with well wishers. Just remember that hormones still apply and you're allowed to scream at them all to get out if you want :-D
And make sure Chesh SMS's me with the sex of the bubby (and a name if you've already decided) when it's all settled down coz I'm gonna post it all over the PB Foods Intranet!
Yeah Baby!

*goodluck* :)

A poetic occasion!

Date: 2005-08-08 12:32 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] anysia.livejournal.com
'Twas the night before inducement,
And all through the house,
Not a biped was stirring,
Just one anxious spouse.

The crib and bassinet
Aligned with such care
In hopes that a baby,
Would soon be in there!

And what to our wondering eyes should appear?
A pregnant young lady,
Whose time was quite near.

We heard them exclaim
As they drove out of site
"Inducement today
And no sleep tonight!"

That is such a cool poem .

Ken was reciting something he made up to the tune of Ding dong the witch is dead and I'll see if I can get him to post it if he remembers it .

I know I gave you our wishes via sms but I wanted to add them here. All the best for tomorrow. We'll be thinking of you. Let us know what's going on and when you want visitors.

If you're really lucky it'll start tonight for you anyway.

The good news is; either way, this time tomorrow night you'll be parents.

All the best! Here's hoping all goes well and quickly.

Ka's one bit of essential birthing advice: Chesh is not allowed to wear a red shirt.

OMG! so exiting, so many good wishes for you!

and OMG! so much stuff! do I need all that stuff? Can't I just keep it in a box by the bed? or let it graze free in the backyard until it is house trained???

Date: 2005-08-09 01:57 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] babalon-93.livejournal.com
