Number Six
Sep. 28th, 2007 10:24 pmVinnie had another febrile today. And it seems this one was a textbook case, which means I didn't quite realise it for what it was. It lasted for less than a minute. And then he perked up faster than he has ever done before. We spent four hours in emergency, most of it trying to get a wee sample. Eventually, the Dr gave up and said he is obviously not in pain, and completely fine again. (We'd probably just been kissing the teddy bear again and giggling.) So we could go. We put a nappy on him and come home, and he's weed in the ten minutes. :-)
I am so glad this did not happen last week. I was just starting to feel like things were a bit more under control. My legs weren't cramping any more until this morning, I felt healthy and not sick ill dying or having mental issues with everything, and it all seemed normal again.
As far as febriles go, this one was the easiest one yet. One minute fit and perking in 15 minutes afterwards? Hell easy. Not that it wasn't panic stricken and terrifying, it always is. But a damn sight easier than 15 - 20 minutes of fitting and 2 - 3 hour recovery times.
I guess I need to ring the specialist and let him know.
