A Tale of Woe and Happiness

Today started off pretty good. Kids and I went to a surprise birthday picnic, and had a great time, then came home and got ready to go to another birthday party. Chesh and I were quite excited by this; it was a friend's birthday, and we were all going to see Alice In Wonderland, and Chesh and I had booked tickets! We had babysitting organized, tickets booked and paid for, the on-call mobile phone given away for a couple of hours... no stress in the world, right?
