callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (b00bies!)
Well, the house is clean. I've been getting into the flylady stuff, and getting really into it. My house has never been so cleaner for long before! It's nice to have things organized. Vinnie now has six teeth, and number 6 and what we think isnumber 7 seem to be hurting him more than a number of other things. He had another fall today, minutes before we all went to the dentist, so my personal space just slammed shut, and I wasn't up for having a filling done. So I got my teeth cleaned and now I can smile again. However it's such a horrible, horrible shock when he plants his face into the floor. I know I have many many more of such things to look forward to, but I just get so upset when there's so much blood - and it's my baby's blood!

Anyway. House is clean. Today I cooked seven meals. Four lasagnes, one nacho meat mix, one beef bourgingon and one beef bourgingon for dinner. If any one needs food soon (any more babies due?) then they can have some lasagne. :-) I'd take some tomorrow for G, but I would need to talk to her about dietary requirements first I think. None of my freezer cooking is low fat, low sugar or low salt!

Babalon had a brilliant idea today, that small group of us SAHM get together once a week to clean each other's houses. This would make it fun, and we would get so into it we could do the stuff that gets rarely done, like wiping over cupboards or cleaning light switches. Mind you, optimum would be if we got together at 10, did that for an hour, had lunch/morning tea and then did stuff together, like Babalon suggested; a lot of us have laptops and wireless at home, so we could just hang out and do stuff on our pcs, or artwork, or quilting, and just be with other people while we do it. I'm up for that! That way we also don't need to worry too much about conversation - sometimes, I just don't have much I want to say!! (Yes, it is possible. Shut up.)

We're thinking about our floor warming party. June the 4th work for every one? It will have a shoe theme and will be a cocktail party. If you have any great shoe themed games to play, please please please email them to me. I went to a party the other day and we played lots of great games, I might see if I can rip off some of them! Plus we can get every one to help us develop the big truth/dare game that Rosie was using. You reached into the box and answered your question or did your dare, and if you didn't then you were out of the game. It was fun. :-) We have a double bed in the spare room, and plenty of mattresses, plus the small spare room will also have a bed in it for use, so whoever asks first gets it!

Last weekend was the engagement party. Had a fantastic time, found out I loved helping out in the kitchen and doing all that running around, but I won't work weekends, so despite the pleasure I am not looking for a catering job. The cakes went down fabulously, and seemed perfect. I have all the pics ready for cake_decorating however when I try to post a series of pics to my LJ, the LJ cut tag doesn't work, and it pisses me off and I get all cranky. Then I think the world is out to PISS ME OFF and i stomp around the house for a while, which is never pleasant for John.

Ooo! Survey news! Need $50?? Have a child or two or three? Get FTB A but not B? Or it's deferred until next financial year? Give Chris a ring on 9316 2322 and see if you're eligible for their survey thing tomorrow. It's an hour long, in applecross, and they give you $50 in cash! That should pay for lunch tomorrow!! :-) Anyway, have to go and ring more people. Apparently the lady Chris has been on the phone for six hours and got no one, and then there's me! :-)

Completely derailed now, I leave you to your intarwub.

So is Flylady worth it? You're one of many ppl I know that's signed up...

It's not so much a signing up thing, it's more of an attitude changing thing... get yourself a timer, and when there's things you have to do but don't want to, then set it to 15 minutes. I was amazed. I'd whine and whinge about doing the dishes all morning, then set my timer swearing to make john do the rest once it went off, and then I'd do it all and have a spare five minutes left. And I'd be embarrassed. All that whining and whinging...

If 15 minutes is too long, other people do it in the time it takes to boil a kettle. So they set it off, promising themselves a tea at the end, and get little bits of housework done in that time. It's just been fantastic to help me sort out and do housework. I hated the way I just "had to do it" and this gives me so much more control that I'm now attempting once a month shopping (fruit and veg get delivered) and between that and the control of housework, I'm expecting to be able to do baby swimming classes and go to the gym myself with him and everything.

Our engagement party is June 3rd (Tori's still working on the invites) so I don't know what state we'll be in on June 4th!

prk.

The washing up is the thing that got me too:-)

That, and the reminder that you're never behind.

I've been fairly lax about it recently, but I find I tend to be cyclical. And flylady helps me have a plan so that I get on top of things again more quickly. Of course, the de-cluttering is really what needs doing.

A Friday night? Or have I got my dates wrong?
Nah, I'll move the housewarming, cos I think one of us will have a hang over.

Flylady is on holiday at our house at the moment :(

Though I have been using my timer for my studying and I have been putting my clothes out the night before. Baby steps!

What, Pray tell, is this flylady stuff?

Oooh, quilting. Sounds good to me. Do you know how to quilt, or would this be a learning process for everyone? :P

I've always wanted to make quilts where everyone does part of it, and then one person has it, and then it's on to the next one!
