callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (Kicking Keyboard)
On the feminist list I recently joined, someone posted some stuff which eventually lead to me poking around the Democrats women's site. It's a very interesting, well put together, cohesive, educational web page, plus it has some a couple of women on there who are worthy of note. It's a good page. I learn about myths about abortion. (Well, new ones, that I didn't know people said, but which are wrong.)

Cool.

I also check out the Labor pages on women. I find them, pretty easily, and open it up and just for fairness sakes, I check out the Liberals too.

You know, I didn't actually realise that there might not be a women's page. How naive of me!! LOL. Anyway, giving up, I opened up WA, only to discover there is a women's page, but a quick read of it shows how women can help Liberals, and nothing on how Liberals are helping women. Fuck 'em.

Anyway, reading the Labor pages, I'm not very happy here either. It was easier to find at least, but again it seems to be along the lines of how women can help Labor, not how Labor is helping women.

I want Labor and Liberal to be as CRYSTAL CLEAR about women as the Democrats are. I want a list of policies. I want them to actually treat me like a human being and say "This is what we are working towards, and this is how." It shouldn't be so bloody hard to find!

(Relevant links for these are on the sidebar.)

would them be the same democrats that gave australia the gst? Do you want well defined policies that aren't adhered to?

Unlike politicians who are happy with murk? I'd rather ones who were upfront about everything and were easier to catch out.

Are you after core policies or noncore policies? Never ever bringing in a GST? Stuff like that? Just because they're upfront about stuff, or easy to catch out, doesn't make the federal LIberal Party not evil. Or get them voted out of office.

Huh?
You think I'm defending liberals??

I'm interested in clearly defined women's policies. What the parties *think* is important to women and how they address it. Do you have links for me?

I'm going to start reading the pages for the office of women, but I
m thinking that as a government department, it exists external to the party policies (if they have them) however furthers the cases of internal (hidden) policies of the current powerful party.

Does that make sense? But anyway, all this will probably change as I start reading it.
:-)
