callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (King of the Wild Things)
I called someone a troll on Femconnexion list. After I deleted the comments of me screaming what a troll he was and could I set fire to him. He declared raising children is a breeze and he doesn't know why women whinge about picking up after the ones they love all day. And that no office job is as cushy as raising children. And that men do 5 hours MORE housework per day in australia than women.

*sits back*

Yes, I've been having a bad three weeks. Things just never seem to be getting out of this gutter. These fucking trolls on femconexion are always de-valuing women and women's work and posting articles I find off-colour. I think Audrie has lost control and allowed the trolls in and doesn't know how to handle them, or how to ban them. I don't think there is any decent arguments just arguing with trolls.

I'd quit but I feel I should remain so they can flame me back. If I get banned though, I won't complain. :-)

Well done!

Heh! I would have setup an autoreply bot to post "Troll - Spam - Delete" every time they posted.

Banning trolls is just common sense. Some trolls can be funny and therefore can be tolerated (rather like a court jester). Others are just arsewipes and should be treated as such.

Life's too short for serious people to have a serious discussion with morons interrupting the flow.

(Interesting, the very next post after this on my flist is me in the socialists community asking that moderater delete a troll who argues that capitalism is an economic system given by God to the Jews. No shit.)

He's definately a troll and should be banned.

FWIW, the five hours he referred to (at least if you are speaking of this post (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/femconnexion/message/4574)) was paid work rather than house work (I was curious as to the source of his bizarre assertion), but I suspect even that statistic is being quoted out of context.

I really don't understand the relevance of his comment about looking after his child being fun and hence not work. The same could be said for paid work for a fortunate minority and I would have thought the degree to which it precludes the posibility of doing anything else is far more significant. Jeanette and I spent two hours looking after my nephew a few weekends ago, and fun as it was it was soo nice getting the house back afterwards so I could start getting anything else done again :)

Hmm. I'm rambling. My sympathy for the disruption, and good luck with the moderator!
