I rang my council to ask them a question about the mulch they provide, as to whether it *is* composted or not. I was tired of waiting and had a minute so I was scoping out other options. The nearest other option was mulch which had not been composted, and hence I wanted to weigh it all up. And so I ring, and I go "I want to ask a few questions about your mulch, and to start with, I know there's none available right now..." and she goes "Well actually, I was JUST reading an email saying we have some for sale!"

We're getting ten cubic metres. Do you *know* how much ten cubic metres is? It's fully sterilized and composted, so I just dump it on the ground and stick vegies in it. It's 12 trailor loads. 12. My God.

:-)

And for less than $200 too.

Any hints tips, suggestions for growing things?

It's very useful for growing hippies that you've knocked out with a shovel.
;)

When planting plants, green side up, brown side down.

Oooh, that sounds awesome!

My olds got a huge amount of mulch, and grew what seemed like a plantation's worth of pawpaws and mango trees....but we had a huge 1/4 acre block there.

I mean, what do you really wanna grow? :)

I think it depends on what you're after...do you want pretty things or edible things? I am assuming the latter. I would suggest taking a walk around bunnings garden center or your local waldecks and see what is in seedlings atm. You might have to wait till the end of summer though for some veggies and things. How exciting! I personally like things like beans, tomatoes, peppers and things like that which grow fairly quickly. But that's cause I am quite impatient LOL

Woooaaaahhhh that's a heap of mulch. Remember that pile in front of my house however many weeks ago? That was 2m3. 12!!! :)

Treesagreen in Orange grove? something grove anyway. They have bulk plants cheap, including seedlings for 40c usually... overgrown but usually salvageable.

Ooo! Orange Grove is close to me!
Any idea what streets roughly?

I don't think it's Orange Grove anymore. I always think it is, but it isn't. It's on Hale Road near the Roe Hwy/Orrong Rd intersection bit. Forgotten :)

So... is that an offer for me to watch your gloriously rippling muscles dripping with a light sheen of sweat while I invite all my female friends to "help" too??

*pants*

Are you sure you're ready for this??

*evil grin*

Do i get to wear a loin cloth. And it would be a fun time for you to meet the girl i am seeing as well. She could make constructive comments.

Hell yeah!
:-)

I'll email you when it arrives and we'll do a lunch thing? Although, with the daylight savings thing, we could do some on a Wednesday or something?

Well yeah coming up to Xmas my time is kinda limited. But i still have to give you your bracelet back and all. But i am happy to come over and do some stuffs to help you guys out.

Seriously, don't worry about the bracelet. It cost $10 for ten of them, so it's not an issue.
:-)

Whenever. I'm so excited that if it gets delievered tomorrow I shall probably exhaust myself puttering around moving mulch!
