Just bumbling around. I have heaps of half formed thoughts of depth about political stuff, feminist stuff, big brother stuff, cleaning, housework, men, women, sex and dreams. Instead, I should go and find that picture of a bunny with a pancake on it's head. I expect that will be as deep as I get.

:-)

It's a cute pic nonetheless.

I just saw Chesh's link to the Do Not Call list starting up. The line which amuses me most:

Some groups, including charities, religious organisations and political parties will still be able to call those who have registered.

Oh, great. Pollies and Religious organisations can still ring me. For fuck's sake. Why do they get out of it? I don't want to hear from either of them. I'd post the link to the do not call page, but it's down under heavy traffic right now. *snerk*

anyway

http://www.donotcall.gov.au/

I'd recommend waiting a bit.

So, I have been poking around the What Women Want political party, and sent them an email inviting them to send me a longer email back essentially recruiting me. I do wonder if they will send a polite reply (polite is better than stupidly antisocial) but if it's stupidly antisocial, I will post my email and the reply up here. Just, cos, you know. If they can't be polite to interested persons, then they can fuck off.

Chesh and I are missing the smell of woodsmoke and winter, which essentially means I should organize another Fairbridge. Or find someone else to organize one! :-) Long walks in the damp grass, animals and wildlife, fire, cooking, warmth, friends, a drink or two... it feels like it has been a long time since I've done that. I love Femmeconne, but that's a whole different feel. I like doing things with whole families too. I expect that with Pikelet growing strong, the wilder activities... for me at least.. will probably be curtailed. Getting to bed at 9:00 every night can be hard work you know!

I wonder if anyone with a laptop and TV card could come and channel some BB for us... oh shit, then we'd need a phone line too.... hot damn...
:-)

Had a good chat about a lot of stuff yesterday. I wonder if I came out awfully wanky, but I assume not since she's still talking to me. LOL. I wrote a dismal amount yesterday, I haven't counted in case it's less than my favourite 67 word tally for a whole day.

My webcam has now been set up, so I can do video blogging! Won't that be exciting! Maybe you guys should make some suggestions as to what I should talk about? Anything?

Maybe you could read some more of that book to us? :P

Actually, that could be very handy for me to re-learn writing.

Interesting idea.
:-)
Verrrrry interesting idea.

Is this even possible?? :) I was the one spouting crap and ruining your poor child's hearing with profanities... You did and said exactly what I needed to hear... Wank you say? No Sir I say!

OH DEAR GOD YES!! I love Fairbridge and Fire and Camping and Fire and hanging out and FIRE! ... I will 'assist' in organising with you if you require it - baring in mind our convo yesterday *grin*

Well, I was thinking of shifting some of the load to the people who want to come instead of my usual trick of justdoing it ALL myself. I don't know if I can fit food for 10 - 15 people for two nights into my 121 any more, since we now have Vinnie. At least with him being in a bed, it makes the sleeping arrangements easier!

:-)
I'm thinking July/June? I want lots of rain.

Date: 2007-05-03 03:38 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] willowgypsy.livejournal.com
Yep - rain is good 8)

June long weekend is 1-4 June but I have a funny feeling 'stuff' will be happening up here (I have Pink! on Monday night - 4 June)

8-10 June is fine so far cept I will be training all day Friday so no quick get-away on Fri afternoon - but can probably take the Monday (11) off.

16 June is Splanky's spa-y goodness

22 - 24 June ok (Can't take the Monday though - which I might be able to do on other weekends)

29 June - 1 July is ok

6-8 July ok

Thats about it at the moment...

*cough*

9th June is likely to be poker at A's.

Damn! Forgot!

Which means 7 July is likely to be at mine??

My new place should have room...

14th July if we follow the current pattern. And you can host that one if you like...

A offered to have the next one because she wants to show off all the changes that she and L have been making to the house. :)

Realistically, it depends on whether Fairbridge have a weekend free for one of the cottages we need!
:-)

But cool, I will keep all of this in mind and if I go ahead, will aim for July. New Financial year celebrations and something.

Also, it would be a friday night and saturday night, as most of us work, I don't think we need every one to take holidays, it's only an hours' drive from most places, and it's just a miniholiday.

Just little ole me in my BIG car :)

Re the donotcall

You can also still receive calls from market researchers.

So who exactly does it stop ringing? It seems to be covering 90% of those who finally get through to me.

Date: 2007-05-03 03:25 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] callistra.livejournal.com
Market researchers? You simply ask them how much they are paying you for your time, and if they say oh, nothing, you say you're registered with people who do pay, and please fuck off.

Patterson Market Research ring me and Chesh occasionally, and pay us for our time.

We don't get them very often unless it's Patterson or a subsidary of theirs, all of whom pay.

The donotcall thing is really stupid. I actually don't mind calls from companies, because they may actually be offering me something. I have zero interest in being pestered by religious groups, charities or political parties, so those are exactly the ones I want to never hear from.

Date: 2007-05-03 05:45 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] 1phish2phish.livejournal.com
Oh, great. Pollies and Religious organisations can still ring me.

Ask them who they are and where they're calling from, then tell them that you're a police officer investigating a crime at your address, and if they can't provide a decent alibi for the previous few hours, you'll be sending a car around to pick them up. They hate that.

LOL
I like that idea.

Ooh! Ooh! Can I put my hand up and say "I would love to do that the next time that I am in Perth"?

I was just saying to [livejournal.com profile] alias_sqbr that I wanted to get away down south with a bunch of people... and I was thinking of you and John and [livejournal.com profile] alias_sqbr and Margaret D. (:
