I made bread! I did it in the kenwood, using Chaosmanor's recipe, and it's fucking AWESOME! I knew I wouldn't be able to knead, I'm trying to not run myself ragged, but this was the best bread I have ever made! The grain is even and beautiful, the crust delightful and it sprung up for a thirs rise in the oven, which mine sometimes forget to do! And, since I had the kenwood out, I made a cake too. Go me! Now I need a cup of tea and soe recovery time I think. I had a slice of bread with peanut butter and it was sooooooo gooooood.

Kenwoods are wonderful. I (still) remember picking mine up from a Cashies for less dollars than I'd expected to spend, but more than I could spare at the time. $70, or $80 IIRC.
I knew I'd never see one again at that price so resistance was futile.

They are still one of the best, if not the best, home cooking accessory.

I am presuming you have the dough hook?

I have two dough hooks.
:-)
I was given the kenwood when [livejournal.com profile] recumbenteer moved over east, and had lots of bits and peices, and when I was over east I bought the same model at a farmer's market for $25,left the actual kenwood with him and brought the ceramic bowl and all the attachments home in hand luggage.
:-)

Having two bowls, 2 k beaters, 2 dough hooks, and 2 whisks is the best thing ever. When I feel like doing huge batch cooking, I have *no problems*
:-)

Two ... of ... everything?

... Lust!

The two bowls, I can see being incredibly useful. (They're brilliantly sized too). Two of the mixing tools, I'm not so sure of. *shrug* Guess you're using them though ;)

I grew up using Mum's kenwood, and she also has the top and front attachments. The blender (which has finally died) and the slicer/meat grinder/grater attachments.
ahhh ...

no such thing as too many kitchen toys, no, not at all.

A cake and a batch of biscuits done at while the other cooks. Whipped cream and meringue back to back. Pumpkin bread and normal bread...

:-)

Two bowls is definitely the most important part, since you can just rinse everything else though. I think new bowls cost about $30, but they are the metal ones and I am not sure if they will fit into my model. And yes, have the blender (one of) and the mincer was around somewhere (one of) and a bean stringer and chopper too...
:-)

I have permission that if this one ever buys I am allowed to buy the whole kit and caboodle to replace it. I will need to do a lot of research then to weigh the pros and cons of kenwood versus kitchen aid and chefmaster.
:-)

I think you gave your mincer to me because it didn't fit the model you had but it fitted my model. Either that or you gave me the pasta former for the same reason and I got the mincer when I bought my Kenwood.

We have now got the knack of making pasta dough in the kenwood, using the K-beater not the dough hook which surprised me. Fantastic!

I think it was the pasta maker attachment.
I may have given the mincer away since I never used it. Otherwise, I would love to find it now LOL
