40 days until due date. Eeeeeek!
I'm having huge trouble sourcing corn seeds. I don't get it! I've never had this trouble before. Places that are sold out or don't even have a seed rack:
Coles.
Woolies.
IGA.
Bunnings.
Mazzeggas.
One or two places, yeah, OK. But five?? Weird.
The roof is being finished now, and Chesh's parents are finishing Chainsaw Massacre 2. My garden is so much more open now! There's so much more sunlight! *peers outside* When there's sun.
I woke up this morning feeling tired, heavy, and stupid. I thought I'd got a good night's sleep. It's rained most of the night and the cap wasn't on the roof, which worried me a little this morning when I thought about it. The volvo didn't start so we rang RAC. It was flooded, which means USER ERROR. But I didn't do anything unusual, it just wouldn't start the first time I tried! No idea wtf was going on there. I cried a bit occasionally this morning. Water dripped on my floor. Jess took me out for some retail therapy to Mazzegas, where I was disappointed in their seed collection (small) and in their seedlings (winter vegies? Now? Broad bean seedlings? Really??) and in their fruit trees (Isn't that a leaf disease? Isn't *that* a leaf disease? Since I'm a newbie to the fruit tree thing, I just stopped thinking about it and wandered off instead.) And no corn seedlings either.
They did have scarlet runner bean seedlings, but I want the corn to be established before I do the beans!! So anyway, I bought some Purple King seeds and white radish seeds. But we did buy a new cabinet for the bathroom, which has filled me with excitement, because it was much prettier and much less crappy looking than I thought it would be! Awesome! So we bought it and now I have a basin and cabinet in my lounge room. :-)
The Big V is in daycare today, which is such a relief. I just feel really worn and like I need to rest. It's been fantastic having Chesh's parents up, I just wish I could help out more. I'd loved have had that tired exhaustion from a full day running around in the garden last night where you hands hurt cos you've scraped them raw and your muscles ache from digging lifting bending dragging spiking from trees and etc...
With the rain today, plans are being made, and things from yesterday being finished off. The roof men have set up shop next to the front oleandar, so it looks like that one gets to live for a bit longer. It's four/five brethren down the back are gone, YAY! I am very relieved. I still don't consider the area safe yet. but I'm sure Chesh's parents will tell me when it is or help me make it safe. First we need to kill the damn plants properly, and then get rid of the debris. The citrus trees are now gone too, which is great. I felt guilty every time the orange tree produced fruit. Still didn't make me eat them though, so it's best for that relationship to be over.
I am thinking of lying down again for a while, but I'm not sure it will make me feel any better! Ooo, Chesh made the best pizza last night. It had grape tomatoes, pineapple, bacon.... and it was SOOO GOOOD! It was also really juicy without being soggy. Grape tomatoes are the best.

Date: 2007-10-08 03:46 am (UTC)From:I had good pizza twice this weekend - Friday night from Brando's and Saturday night from the food court in Freo - they have an amazing menu there, and it is very allergy and preference friendly! They have a pizza with no 'nightshade' family veggies on it :)
I had a margherita pizza with mushroom, basil and parmesan on it - YUM!
