You're only a bad mum if it was done deliberately. Otherwise, you're just human, capable of making mistakes like the rest of us. He'll get over it, just make sure you do too.
My mum accidently mashed my sister's finger in the cupboard door (the side with the hinges) when my sister was little. Then my sister couldn't get the finger out - stuck! It took about 15 mintues and a lot of margarine to get her unstuck.
