Hmmm. Went shopping today. I feel.... relaxed and like I have time for a change. So, we bought some food....
I bought a couple of ingredients and have made a chocolate fudge cake with apricots in it and it's pretty damned good. John and I were chatting, and have come up with a baaaad baaaaaad idea - Steak Kilpatrick. We love oysters kilpatrick, and were wondering what it would be like if we cooked up a steak and poured oysters, bacon and wocestershire sauce over the top and served it like that ... our mouths started watering, so we're having a trial run tonight, but with tinned oysters. I have a sneaking suspicion that fresh would be better (for a start they would hold together; I expect a certain level of dissolving out of the tinned ones) and be more appealing to the eye. However, we might be totally wrong and it will be totally horrible, in which case the investment in time and fresh oysters was worth missing. (After all, that's a one hour drive to a seafood shop on top of the money...)I'm planning on serving this with a gently steamed bunch of pak choy, and maybe a nice salad with hydropnic vine tomatoes.
For lunch, I was feeling enthused, so I got some eggplants already chargrilled, chargrilled my own capsicum, and made vegetarian pizzas, and topped them with an egg. I don't think the egg worked as well as I'd hoped; next time I'll skip that bit, but it was all good. I had a vision, and almost made it happen. :-) I think there might be a bit of a lean towards vegies in future *grin*
Anyway, must run, have committee meeting.
