Any ideas as to what to do with a sudden deluge of small nashis? We don't actually eat them. Can I make nashi pie?

You could stew them...would be nice with icecream or custard, pie or crumble would be good too. Somewhere I have a recipe for apple upside down cake - nashi would probably work in that as well.

Stew them with brown sugar and serve with custard. Nom nom. :)

Mmmm Nashis.... I would eat them all if I was there, I loves them.

I reckon a Nashi pie or crumble would be delicious!

Dry them and use them in Christmas cakes for the next twenty years? Preserve them and give them to people? Pickle them, ditto?

I heartily agree, jam would be awesome.

They're quite pear-y, perhaps poached in wine? But I don't see why a pie wouldn't work (I say never having cooked with them)

I have cooked nashis many a time. Add them to anything you'd use a pear or an apple for. They're milder than apples, especially Grannies, but yes, I've used them in a pie, a crumble and an upside-down cake (best when crunchy). Add them to curries (if you're a fruit-in-curry person). Stew them, poach them, eat them raw. They are so very versatile. Like apples they can be eaten when crisp and like pears they can be eaten when softened.

And kids love them.

I can't remember whether you eat meat, but you can make nashi sauce like applesauce and serve it with roast pork or pork chops.

You could also juice them, or layer them on an upside-down teacake.
