- Clean
- sweep
- feed children and maybe change their bottoms occasionally :-)

- make chicken and onion filling
- make hummus
- make yoghurts
- bake beetroot
- make mince for mini turkish pizzas
- make dinner

- prep chicken wings and start marinating
- make kebabs for turkish style kebabs
- start the sweet potato salad
- maybe start the aubergine and chick pea salad?
- Prep prep prep
- Wash dishes
- Go Out tonight
- get inside and outside ready for company and kids
- filling for meat cigars (if I do them)

- As a reward for doing at least five things, I will get some writing done.
:-)

Plan for tomorrow:
- make dough for pizzas - 200 degrees
- cook chicken wings - grilling
- prep filo pastry for chicken and onion pie
- roll cigars - 180 degrees
- cook pie - 180 degrees
- clean and wash dishes

I won't be doing a megacookoff with the Japanese next month, simply because japanese is so fiddly. I have no interest in cooking up 10 serves of oyakudon for example. All of the North African food has been great crowd pleasers with prep I can do over the course of a couple of days. I kind of wish there was a friend who could come and play cook with me all day and tomorrow, helping raise the kids and make meat sausages and food and share the task. Village life is so easy to romanticize. :-)

Not all Japanese food is that fiddly, you know.

What's easy to prepare for ten people so I don't spend the entire day in the kitchen?
Sushi takes a lot of prep, tempura requires me to be in there frying away, oyakudon has the same sort of problems, kara-age requires me to be frying...
Suggestions? Recipes?

Sukiyaki. You have to do some cutting, but the actual cooking bit is done at the table by everyone.

Of course this only works if you have something like an electric frypay to put on the table to cook out of.

Also, you can do roll-your-own sushi. Again, some preparing of ingredients and cooking the rice (fiddly if you don't have a proper rice cooker) and everyone puts their sushi together themselves.

I can come over earlier tomorrow *love*

I won't be up before nine, but I could come over after that?

well, looks like catch up today is out... I would so love to do a village cooking day - but not today as I'm working working at folks then have to get home so S can go to work...
but hey lets plan one of those - I think it would be fab! all day cooking, chatting, kids entertaining themselves (i can dream right?) then feast the next day and have the menfolk wait on us.... :-)

we could wag one afternoon of agswa and do ourselves a big cook up chat fest while you're over here! :-)

make chicken and onion filling
- make hummus
- make yoghurts

using my special powers of miss-reading I first read that as "-make humans", which I think is worth considering, probably more work, but way more useful than hummus :)
