My credit card statement got generated overnight last night, which is good. So, I'm cruising around, adding the amount to me calendar so I know how much money I need to have come the 27th and etc, and then I see this:

THIS NEW CARD OFFERS YOU 2 POINTS PER $1 SPENT ON PURCHASES AND IS A COMPANION CARD TO YOUR CURRENT ALTITUDE VISA CARD, WHICH EARNS YOU 1 POINT PER $1 SPENT. THE ALTITUDE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD IS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST AND WITH NO CHANGES TO YOUR EXISTING ACCOUNT. They're going to send me a second card to the same account but it's Amex?
WTF?
No one takes Amex. So I get 2 points per dollar. While this means the next Eee upgrade might come faster, there's no other benefit. If i activate it, then I'm going to have TWO credit cards, to the SAME account. So if I go over and get bounced, I can't even pull out the second card to use, cos that will bounce too.
I'm kind of cranky about this whole thing. Why don't they just make the original card get 2 points per dollar? Why, because it's a different brand. So Amex is trying to sneak up behind Visa to try and get my business.
