Doing Nano is always a time of discovery for me. This year, I started from a very different place of two years ago. I was much more confident, I had a goal, I had a rough plan, and I tried a few things I hadn't done before.
Things I learnt...
1) You are allowed to segue away from sex scenes in erotic novels. I was very relieved.
2) I probably can work on two projects at the same time. If I don't have two small children at home. So when the kids go to school, then I will be able to what I was hoping to do this time around.
3) I managed 6K between driving for 2 hours, visiting parents, intense discussions, variable access to decent keyboards and making dinner. That's a handy thing to know.
4) Sometimes I need a firecracker up my arse, even if it's a softly spoken "You know, I would like you to finish," from my husband. :-)
5) I love it. I love it I love it I love it. And one day, I will aim for 50k in 5 days. But, you know, just not for the next few years...
6) I like the fantasy side of things more than the erotica side of things. But this is variable. :-)
7) I really, really, really liked the widgets. I liked the word races, I liked the collaborative data, I just like doing this with friends.

3. If one truly wishes to write, one will find a way.
4. Every writer needs this. Just not necessarily from your husband. ;)
5. You know it is doable.
6. Interesting when one discovers that one is in love with something after all.
7. So it's not necessarily garrets or nothing.
Glad you did well during NaNoWriMo. Congratulations.
