Today was foggy! It turns out San Francisco is not the sunny warm place I had experienced but cold and foggy! I never knew!

Today we went to Alcatraz, which was pretty awesome. I walked up the equivalent of 13 flights of stairs, and that on top of yesterday's efforts I am really pleased with. I ran out of go in the afternoon, and had to sit quietly for an hour and a half, but after that I wandered about shopping again.

So, Alcatraz. We did the audio tour, which was really awesome, and got some pics of the cells and stuff. I found it interesting how the audio tour used sounds words and voices to develop the stories it was telling, and found it r4eally interesting to see the history of Alcatraz. I didn't know that American Indians tried to claim the place, and lasted almost 2 years before the military came in and took them away. It was a lot of walking, but it was at a nice gentle pace with good company, so it was all fine. There was an optional bus to the higher regions if needed, but we took a wrong turn so we just kept going and i didn't use it.

After we got back on the ferry we went looking for a coffee. I needed to rest, but it took us an hour to find somewhere to have a coffee, walking walking walking. After the coffee and Texan pecan pie with ice cream (brilliant!) I sent Carol off to play with submarines while I sat on a bench and read some  Clive Cussler quietly until I almost fell asleep (about an hour and a half.)

So I went for a walk, and tried some of the sample sized serves of the local crab. I am sorry to say I found it boring! It had none of the flavour of the crabs i have had at home. I liked the mini crackers though. :)

I wandered around some shops, I don't have a San Francisco t shirt, and I don't know if I will be able to get one easily. They didn't seem to go up to my size unless I liked 'fucking ugly' as a colour. I don't. :) I met up with every one again and we headed off for dinner. They had crab and corn bisque in a sourdough boule, I had crispy skin sea bass in a creamy Brussels sprout sauce, and there was also a clam linguine that was rather nice.

After that we headed off to Borderlands, and it was all very nice, we had camomile tea, and that was nice, and came home, which is also nice LOL and am settling in for the night. Tomorrow we're moving out to San Diego. I saw Champagneandsock's post about Eagle airlines overselling seats  and freaked out a bit but then remembered (or told myself sternly) that we are on a different company. I am a bit over tired and a bit low. My sleep was bad again, so I am quite exhausted. I hope I have better luck tonight!
