I have joined Nanowrimo. If you all don't join too, I shall stop speaking to you all!
:-)

Some of you in particular!

I was happy with I/We awoke chained to a rock.

I'm not sure if I will use it as the very very very opening line in mine, but I am sure I can work it into "Simono's Travels - Love In The Age of Scurvy" somehow.....

I've joined :)

Have been laying the groundwork in the last week or so. Got my world mapped out, and my opening scenes...just have to get my head around a few things.

Not a chance. I don't see any point to nanowrimo. All it does is try to turn creativity into a sausage factory.

You, darling, are a "special case".
:-P

You WISH!

Actually, it's more trying to get lazy "I'll do it one day" types into "Wow, I actually *did* something" and since I'm reasonably sure I am one of the more organized people around here, I'm all behind it!

Actually getting published, however, turns creativity into a sausage factory, except with only sawdust for stuffing and not even a smidgin of salt to make it taste any good.
;-(

I still think this is all about replacing creativity with regimentation. Okay you lot, attention, slope arms, on my order write the same thing at the same time, and keep formation. And who needs hundreds more crap novels? Too many of those published already. A single article fueled by inspiration is worth more than all the dross mechanicly churned out by writing to order. If people took a little effort with the occasional LJ entry they would be better off than pissing down a hole, which is the best thing you can say about this other business.
