Underworld was cool. It was a very dark movie (as in, I kept wanting to scream "Turn the bloody light on!" but I like lots of light.) I liked the plotline, the corsetry, the male lead was cute in a kind of gormless way, the chick was cute and wore hot costumes, yay corsetry, blah blah blah. It was good, we enjoyed it. I'd like to see it again so I can untangle some of the finer points of the plotline. I liked the plotline. It kind of reminded me of Resident Evil where things start out simple. :-)
Corsets were good.
Um... I'm not with it much today. I managed to go to peices on every one yesterday, which was a bit of a shock to their systems and to mine. Now I'm just.... tranquilly on a different planet. It's kind of hard for me to re-engage with reality right now. I think I need more coffee. It was good to see so many people at the screening, and I caught up with some Ghengiscon people to ask them some questions, and happily their answers mean i can spend all weekend hiding instead of trying to be nice to people in the hope they might give Swancon more money. *grin* The way I was yesterday, it might have been close to mugging people for Swancon, which I don't think would help PR at all!
I really did enjoy the film. It absorbed me totally for a couple of hours, which was great. Lucien was very .... interesting. I like a man with glossy curls I guess... and Captain Hook from Peter Pan.... who is also Lucius Malfoy... I think I'll go back to my daydreaming for a while now!!! For some reason, the mere idea of Aragorn all dirty and sweaty is just WRONG but Lucien covered with blood and gor....?? now that's a different kettle of fish! Anyway, I don't *think* I'm here to rabbit on about men.... am I? Oh dear, where was I again?
Underworld. Corsetry. Vampires. Werewolves. Um, there was a noticeable lack of female werewolves. Also there seemed to be a reasonable lack of male vampires. In the group scenes there's always heaps more female vamps than male. There seems to be enough male vampires to do the necessary male things - such as walk the guard dogs, carry guns, fix things, and yell a lot. I kind of would have liked it if they had explored Kraven and the girl's history a little. After 600 years or so, I am SURE there would have been a little history. *Shrug* I think the movie is probably better for it though. I wonder if it is an english film?
I think it's time for me to get back to staring at the wall again. This thinking thing right now is taking a lot more work than it should be!
