callistra: Fuschia from Sinfest crying her heart out next to Hell's flames (Belled and collared boy)
The cabinet is out of the corridor. John and I have both walked out of the toilet, and then for sheer joy of space taken an extra step, and failed to sidle!!!!!

The table is now in the living areas. I have a nutrimetics party tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to it! I cooked all afternoon, so tomorrow should be a bit easier on me.

John bought Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and we watched all the extra features and enjoyed them. I particularly liked the "Dance like an OompaLoompa" although John was not as amused. :-) I can't wait for the TV to go back in so I can watch it for hours on end while john is at work! Yay! Oh, and Dr Phil, and the travesty channel ten has made of Ready Steady Cook. I hate the new compere. He sucks ass. And he's definately trying to appeal to the LCD, which is cranking me off. He's also obviously not a cook or interested in food itself, he's too busy trying to be funny. Wanker. And, y'know, Roo/Roux is NOT A FUNNY JOKE. Sure, you can try it out as a joke, but I find it embarrassing that it made it to air, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Manu hates you. The distinct lake of eye contact and continual attempts at avoidance were obvious to me. (Although, Manu is John's fave cook, so we do spend a lot of time trying to watch everything he does.) :-) And I don't like the new set much either - mostly the flashy lights in the centre of the stage make it look like a BB revival. Anyway, I could go on, but that would just be despressing.... :-) And WHY THE FUCK did channel ten re-arrange everything? I know I am not the only person who had my day planned out around when what was on, and now they have the same programmes but in different time slots? And, I mean, seriously, Oprah after lunch was fine, but Oprah during lunch? Can we survive that much saccharine with our sandwiches??

We bought a new couch. We went to Hardley Normal. They showed us four couches, two of which made it to "thinking about" grade. We went to Furtniture Spot and saw acres and acres of ugly couches. Almost none of which were three seater stand alones. So we went back to Hardley Normal, bought a $1800 couch on special for about $1450, and ended up with a $7000 credit card.

...

Yes.

...

Still horrified. But, apparently, that's how you do interest free twelve month loans of that size these days. We've spent around $10,000 this month. So spacing out that grand and a half was kind of a required idea so we could control our spending a little more. The floors are looking pretty bloody fantastic I might add. Yay floors! House rewarming party is in gestation. More details when we think of them. Looking at way after swancon. :-)

I have started working again! Yay! I have spent about $400 on start up costs, so if you'd like some Bra, please let me know! I need to recoup that money!! :-) I'm aiming for a party a week, mostly to getout of the house, have some fun, and leave Vincent on John's more than capable hands for a few hours. Plus the money is nice. I am looking for parties to happen in March, after Swancon, so please drop me a line!!

The Cake decorating course starts the thursday after this one. I can't wait. I am bouncing - BOUNCING - about this. It's going to rock so much. We have paid for ourselves, and I tried to buy everything we need, but everything we needed is still i 7 kilo blocks instead of one kilo blocks, or some such similar story.

Re-read Curse of Chalion. Re-reading paladin of Souls now. And just cos I have cool friends, a copy of Hallowed Hunt arrived yesterday. Have been caressing it. But I am sure Ariaflame did not want to hear that!! :-)

This weekend is the Wild Women's Weekend. I have purchased pancakes in a bottle to take down for breakfast. Only three or four other meals to sort out. :-)

I have spent a lot of money in the past few weeks. You get that when you visit carousel WAYYYYY too often and they have shops with clothes that fit you and look good. :-) I have cool cothes! I can't wait for Swancon!! Hee! Plus I got some waxing done today. You must now all appreciate my finely arching eyebrows and other hairless bits. :-) I just need a hair cut and I think I will be ready!

I've also spent a lot of time at Mum's place. I don't like doing it that much because I never quite know what to do while I am there, and I end up in this semi-somnolent state where I can't be bothered moving. Not good. Not fun either.

I am really looking forward to the gentle filtering of all our junk back into the main areas of the house. We're going to be decluttering on the way again, hopefully we'll have a big bin thing again, but this time organized by the insurance company for the removal of the fence damaged in that storm last year.

Can't wait for my own pc to be online again. I have needs, you know. Actually, the other thing I need is my cookbooks. I had all these ingredients today but no access to my cookbook. I didn't do too badly, but, you know, I really, *really* need it...

Anyway, John is corking the bottoms of all the chairs for tomorrow, and I said I would help, so I should at least go and be in the same room. That counts as helping, right? I am sore, my feet hurt, and I think we're mostly ready for tomorrow. Mostly.

:-)

And he's definately trying to appeal to the LCD, which is cranking me off.

I read, "He's definitely trying to appeal to the liquid crystal display, which is cranking me off."

Also, Dr. Phil and Oprah get air time in Australia? I was hoping that those were uniquely American afflictions, that we were sparing the rest of Earth.

if you are stuck for daytime TV try Kitchen Confidential Ch7 2:30 PM Friday - this week anyway. Funny as fuck series that got cancelled early in the US and has been stuck on at a stupid time....

Caressing is fine. The basic book borrowing rules apply. Don't bend the spine, don't get it wet, don't feed it after midnight, wait...sorry, looking at the wrong rule list there for a minute. Oh yes, and don't lend it on. Other than that what happens with you and the book is your business. :-)

We have couch now. *grin* much better again!!

I had a chat with Anita today, apparently she has about "three dozen" women coming down already, but the Wellington Mills takes 55. :-) So even if you just want to come down for the free stuff, I don't think it's booked out.

I have no idea as to who is going, either.

You *DO* realise that he's Peter from the now-crapped up Changing Rooms, right? And Renovation Rescue etc.

http://readysteadycook.ten.com.au/home.asp Ooooh, can I please be a contestant? Hmm, maybe not. Did they lose the sponsorship of Continental or something? Looks like the old Continental link doesn't work anymore:(

And again, this is frustrating. Am I doing something wrong? I try posting, but end up having to be anonymous, as my msn space doesn't "No claimed id: no_identity_server: The provided URL doesn't declare its OpenID identity server." or something? :P Lisa

I have no idea if you're doing anything wrong hun! Don't you have an LJ thingy too?

As to the host - da who? Da wha? I haven't actually watched either of them, and I'm definately not going to either!! WhenI get my pc back, I am going to ask them rude questions about why they ditched Nick.
:-)

And I did want to be on the show, very very much, and if I had a chance I'd've dragged Mikolaj on as my other contestant. :-) Now, however, I can't stand the host and don't want to be in the same room as him. I'd love to meet some of the chefs though! :-)
