I feel alert and mentally capable for a change. It's... different. I have rung up and made booking for my ultrasound and blood test, and been working on placing an order for bra that I have had lying around for an embarrassingly long time.

I was just wondering, it seems an awful lot of friends of mine like to play with words. Do you think this is because of our education levels? Our intelligence? Or do we just gravitate to people who like to play wordsmith?

The little snot monster is still a little snot monster, but not quite to the same degree as yesterday. I have a faint headache, tired, and slightly morning sick, but it's all good. I am expecting no problems at all with Pikelet. :-)

Shall we watch a movie today? Invincibles? Any Vin Deisel film? Or two? Or Finding Nemo? Who knows!! I'm not sure how long this alertness will last for. It could be over very shortly. Or it could last! Yay!

Well, most of your friends are probably bookaholics, or at least read more than the average, so it's not that strange that they love to play with words too.

Yes, Yes and Yes :)

I think like attracts to like (in this type of thing) and that when you are intelligent you need/want to be around other intelligent peoples. Education levels is a difficult one - because I have a degree I never use and I know people who have no degree and are way more intelligent than me... but I think intelligence, or a sense of common knowledge is important...

Also, if you were less so, you may struggle with the language and conversation and may 'self-select' to not participate. Not to say that 'we' exclude... us 'word-player's'

heh ... Player!

Oops... might be a little tipsy... in the Q Club drinking red wine...

I think I agree, like attracts like.

I tend to pick the conversations I have with different friends, as some of them aren't into books, some aren't into sports, some aren't into music. It's very much an environmental thing, I think.

Speaking of which, had a lovely debate the other day with Ad and one of his highly educated friends over the eliteness of literature, and the reasons are for reading the classics....

Glad to hear you're feeling more up to everything! Yay!

Pikelet huh? Well I guess that's an improvement on "Mr Blobby" *grin*
We are so getting Vincent a T-shirt with that and a picture of one of his ultrasounds on it for his 21st.
*chuckle*
