Yay!

I went and saw the dr, and I think I am getting much better with this cold. No paracetamol since last night, yay! I'm still coughing a storm, but that should be gone by the weekend.

Also, it seems there is no conjunctivitis drop on the market that is safe during pregnancy. Ah well. Good thing it seems to be clearing up already! Yay! My eye is about 2% uncomfortable now, which is fantastic!

Babalon is having some tough decisions over in Brissy, which is a complete pain. :-( But things are still rolling along. I have bookwork that needs doing! Today was just what I needed, and what I hope tomorrow will be - quiet day in getting our lives sorted and having a little peace and quiet.

:-)

So... YAY! Much better now!

So glad to hear you're feeling better!!

I am feeling 100% better as well, still in some pain, but the temp now seems to be under control so i am going to have a go at doing a half day at work tomorrow and see how that goes!

I hope tomorrow is just what you need *hugs*

There are antibiotics which are fine to use if you need them. Sometimes a little logic is in order over a MIMS "not proven to be safe in pregnancy" blurb - you're in third trimester, what would they prescribe your baby if they were born prematurely and got conjunctivitis? Your baby gets way less topical medication through the placenta than they'd get if used directly in its own eyes.

Sorry, this is an aside, and I'm glad you're getting better without :) I just get grumpy at healthcare professionals whose brain goes out the window when confronted with the bizarre, scary, and abnormal human states of pregnancy and breastfeeding. I know women who've been told they can't take Nurofen or amoxicillin while breastfeeding a toddler, for goodness' sake.

Actually, she did give me a prescription for amoxillin if I got any sicker, and she thumbed through her little book to find out if the eye stuff was OK or not. I figured the same, but it wasn't hassling me much during the day, so I wasn't worried. If it got as bad as Vinnie's, I'd be more worried.

Yeah, I was talking to splanky about nurofen, because I was sure that my Ob said it was cool if I needed it when I left the hospital. But I just couldn't remember exactly.

Nurofen and other anti-inflammatories actually fall under the "tricky" umbrella in third trimester, because it can affect the conversion of the fetal circulation to the newborn circulation if given close to birth (it's all about the prostaglandins... details on request). But it's fine for breastfeeding.
