I wait for another day care day. I realised somewhere that my next ob appointment is not next week, but the week after. But it stresses me out that I've had this form for 2 weeks now, and just have not been able to do the test. What is I *did* have gestational diabetes and it's affecting my baby?

Anyway, I'm sure it will be ok. I'm sure I don't have GD.

I know, it sucks to be waiting like that. I am sure you don't have it either - and even if you do and it is not detected yet it wont be hurting your baby, it is just better to know before the baby is born so they can watch for high blood sugar after she is born, but it won't be a problem.

I never had the test at all.

Oh dear! What went wrong?

Basically, it was hell busy and in theory we're supposed to ring and book. She said I didn't have to, and I waited, but my sugar levels were out and I just sat there and cried for an hour and figured that if I was going to cry during the two hour test about to be started, I was going to do it in private where there wasn't a completely full waiting room staring at me. I think that covers it, really. My sugar levels were out because of the fast, and I wasn't coping.

The place was empty the last time I got there at 8:30, so I figured it would be ok. But this time it was so full, I sat down at her desk because there were no other chairs.

So anyway, I left a note asking for a booking for monday or tuesday next week and came home.

phew! I am glad I read the other comments here - I first read this dost as "failed sugar test" rather than failed "to do" sugar test! yay! (ish)

ahem... I mean post, rather than dost. :) I am having extreme linguistic difficulty today, talking to people seems to be really really hard work.

Why do you have to do a sugar test?

Date: 2007-09-25 08:52 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] callistra.livejournal.com

Sweetie, it's a big poo organising the time to do the test, isn't it? Be prepared to be there for as much as three hours - that's how long it took me to do all the bits. Good luck next time.
