How was Calli's Weekend?
Thursday night: Dinner at Mynxiis, lots of fun, lots of boys/men, tacos were fantastic. Funniest was the boys drinking award winning 4/5 year old red wine and then opening up our 2yo Hardey's under $5 so close to goon it's not funny bottle and the expressions on their faces. Giggle. I shouldn't laugh. LOL. Man, they are so young!
Friday: My apologies to any one who stood still long enough to have me rant at them. This includes friends, workmates, cleaning ladies, friends only contactable by email, and any one else within hearing distance. :-)
Karen's birthday cheese and chocolate fondue and spa party. I finished work late (7:00pm type of late) drove to Mynxii's place, drove to Sheldon's, and then ate a quick meal, had a couple of drinks, and then headed off to the party. It was heaps of fun, it was so cold outside!! But heaps and heaps and heaps of fun! My favourite parts: at the end when heaps of people had wandered off and there's just Shay and
mynxii and
strangedave and we're chatting and trying to remain under water, and
strangedave says "You rant good." I'm pretty chuffed about that! Despite my intention that it would be a quick party, we were the last to get thrown out. We're walking to the car, and I notice that there are people at work at the bakery! It was 2:30 in the morning!! Plus I have two people to drop off before I even get home! Yes, we got to bed at 3:30 in the morning! And because it was so late, I couldn't sleep properly.
Saturday: Got up at 11:30ish. We're basically supposed to have been on the road for an hour or so at this point, and we're not even packed. Ah well, you get that. :-) Stuff stuff into stuff and off we go. We got to Busselton at about 4:00, hit the heated pool with ma and pa and bob around for bit, enjoying the heat. Then, return back to the cottage whereby Chesh and I pass out. Mother wakes us in time to get ready for the party, we're both hell cranky from sleeping in the evening, and manage to get to the party with a minimum of tears abd pain. :-) It's a fairy tale party, so any one can come in any sort of fairy tale character costume. We had three blind mice, shrek, frogs, aliens, wicked witches, ugly stepsisters, cinderellas and snow whites and leprechauns. Determined to get drunk this time after failing miserably at the last cousin's 21st, we start hunting down the alkyhol. Dad finds it first. There's a new engel fridge, about 1.5 metres long by 1 by 1 metres, FULL of beer. The softdrink is HIDDEN basically under the bar inside the bar, and the wine is RED or WHITE 4L casks of Premium Varietal, which could be worse, but I'm not entirely convinced how. But I did manage to get drunk. I was happy. My cousins are all growing up and moving to Perth, so I have promised to take one of them to Sin. The other cousin is coming to my Lingerie party. A cousin's girlfriend has promised to have a lingerie party for me the next time I go to Bunno. Yay! My aunt has promised to have a lingerie party too, and mother thinks that in exchange I might have to have a jewellery party for her. Not to sure about where the bad side to this is though *grin* And despite what it sounds like, I really didn't talk about Lingerie at all! Wow!
I have been practicing blow drying my hair to try and look more presentable. I'm still terrible at it. *giggle*
Sunday: crawled from bed, mother fed us bacon and eggs and toast. It was good. Then saddled up and rode home in the car we came in on. Had a two minute walk to the beach, which was literally about 50 metres away from the cottage. I do like Busselton. :-) Came home, didn't stop except for petrol, and now we're having some quiet time before we try to get some energy together to get out to Sonia and Grant's engagement drinkies! I get the feeling that we might be very brief visitors for Lisa's going away due to pure exhaustion. Ah well, you get that!
