My instructions say 2 cups of flowers to 1/2 cup of vodka. Cool. Since the jasmine is going wild and I love jasmine, I have denuded a few handfuls of flowers into a coffee jar, and poured vodka on top. Now I am supposed to keep it warm and dark and loved and hugged for the next two weeks. With the occasional shake.
:-)

Posted mostly so I remember to check on it! I think I am supposed to shake it daily.
Hmm. I wonder what Jasmine and Vanilla would be like as a perfume! Maybe I should chuck a vanilla pod in there. And a bit of dried orange peel to bring down the sweetness a little.

Next batch maybe. Let's see how this one goes first LOL

I like to make vodka infusions to drink.

1. Take large jar, fill with chopped fruit (I've done it with strawberries, blueberries, and lemons -- separately, though i don't see why you couldn't mix it up).
2. Fill the gaps between the fruit with as much white sugar as will fit.
3. Tip in a whole bottle of vodka.
4. Leave in a dark cupboard for at least 6 weeks, but longer is preferable.
5. Remember to open the jar and stir at least once a week.
6. Strain off fruit (to be put on top of desserts if you wish) and put the vodka back into a bottle. Serve chilled.

The beauty is that you don't need to get the best fruit or vodka, as the sugar covers almost all the sins in the world :)
