Things got derailed when Chesh and I caught a virus.
Chesh had yesterday and the day before off as he was so sick. I think I may have been unwell on Tuesday, and felt really unwell yesterday. Today I just feel kind of limp.
So... Tuesday he and the boys had pizza for dinner as he was toos ick to cook and I went to the goodbye dinner for Ellen Datlow. I flaked early as I wasn't feeling well. Last night we had mince and pasta inna bowl for dinner, cooked by Chesh. We also had Charcoal Chicken for lunch, which wasn't terribly frugal, but was something I felt I could eat. By the time I got us all home I was feeling waves of nausea, a nasty headache and the beginning of some massive massive massive sinus pains. I ate, took drugs, and went to bed. And slept.
I had made the soup and it is awesome. I think it will be dinner tonight. Plus I have left over chicken and salad from yesterday's lunch. We're using the 2 litres of milk I got the other day, so will need to buy more milk before Tuesday. I could try the half real milk and half reconstituted milk and see if I get any complaints from that. Later, when I have the energy to get off the computer desk perhaps!
Still no ideas about the fava beans, the great northern beans, or the artichoke bottoms, but hoping to keep budget below $300 this month. Entirely possible since we're almost a week in, and I haven't been counting take away. I am impressed with my ability these days to take an almost empty cupboard and keep us all full on it.
